(however... it's smokey as HELL! since you just quit smoking, I suppose you could hop the river and go to Windsor Casino... which is smoke free!!) Maybe go and play at Eastern Market?? there's so many plants and flowers to look at :thumbup: Can't wait to hear how everything goes! You're going to be very pleased with Harper Hospital! I certainly was!

I'm having on and off pain too...... my right shoulder has been complaining. I've been talking "walks" throughout the house to try to get stuff to move around. I can say I've been a gas factory as well.... burpin' and fartin' throughout the weekend! Finally went #2 this morning, and I've noticed a lot of the bloating is going away!

Band 75, I hope this isn't too late to tell you... but I'll feel better getting it down anyway. I had the MUTHA of all c-sections (triplets...) and, within a few months, it ripped open on the inside (incisional hernia) I had it fixed almost 1 year from the date of my c-section. Recovery from both of those SUCKED ASS in such a huge way, that I was really scared when I also read it was like a c-section recovery. For me... and I'm sure for you too.... this is a CAKE WALK. I was in surgery, and to the car to go home in 3 hours!! I got myself dressed. I got into jammies when I got home, and have been strolling around the house once I woke up at 3:00. It's currently 7:15, and although I'm sore... this is SO NOT c-section pain. Listen girl... you need to tell some of your "good" girlfriends that you've had this done. You need to let these girls help take care of you. Stop being so self-conscious. They are going to be so proud of you for getting this band, and if they're not? Then they aren't a friend to you. When I quit smoking 12 years ago, I was really expecting my husband, who had quit before we got married, to be really supportive. He wasn't AT ALL. But I learned from it. He's just not a super supportive person. He grew up in a "fend for yourself" household, and it totally shows. But, if I ask him to get me some water, or a pillow, or rub my feet, he'll do it, because I asked. So... tell him what you need! You might be surprised that was all you really needed to do! You also have all of us to support you. If you're feeling down, please come here, and we'll help you. Hi everyone!!! My surgery went very well!!! I had my surgery at 9:00am.... they did my Lap-Band, they fixed my hiatal-hernia and did a fundolectomy (something to do with the fundus of the stomach) and biopsied the lesion on my spleen. My spleen came back as a BENIGN (cancer free) lesion, so they left my spleen alone!! Yippy! Otherwise, I'd have to stay in the hospital for 2-3 days! Anyway.... by 12:00 NOON, I was in the car, on the way home!!! I got home around 12:30, and went directly to bed, and slept HARD until 3:00. I am somewhat sore.... but it's manageable. They gave me liquid Vicodin (HOLLA!!) that I can take every 4 hours. My right shoulder is a little sore as well, presumably from the gas. They also used glue only on me... no stitches, no tape (I have tape issues) I have 3 incisions (I think! not sure!! have to take a peek later) of which all are about 2 inches under the "girls". Otherwise, I'm back in the saddle! Don't tell my clients, but I feel pretty secure I could work tomorrow... IF I WANTED TO! But, honestly, it only makes sense to take the day off! Speaking of clients... I have a client in Queen, NY that I do a high volume of work for. I do graphic design, and I do a lot of business cards, flyers, and brochures for him. Someday when I'm feeling good, I'll post a link to samples of my work. ANYWAY.... imagine my surprise that he sent me FLOWERS today!! How sweet is that?? My 3 BFF's brought me flowers yesterday too, so now my house smells like yummy flowers!! Hubby is being a rock, and the boys are steering clear of me. I showed them 1 of my incisions, and they bugged out :wink: I'm living on ice chips, and Arizona Diet Green Tea with Ginseng and Honey.... and shots of liquid vicodin: Party @ my house!! ROFL!! Anyway... just wanted to let you all know that I'm doing well, and that surgery was a breeze!! AbbyPoo... side note since you're going to the same hospital: everyone couldn't have been any more professional or caring. They are a well oiled machine there, and really impressed me! There are a TON of great hospitals in SE Michigan, and Harper Hospital rocked my socks! You should feel confident that you're going to get the best care possible!! You can put your pictures in your "album" (click on your picture on your posting, and on the right, you should see "album"...... if you haven't created one, do it, and you can upload pictures there) once you've done that, you can use the URL code it gives you to post your picture. You can also click the "go advanced" button on the window that you're posting on (at the bottom) and you'll get more options..... including a paperclip. Click on the paperclip icon, and you can choose a file from your computer to attach to the posting (which is what I did) HTH! Karen
