50 lbs.....
Thank you!!! My current goal is 170 and now I'm 20 lbs away. It seems as though I'm losing 1 lb per week but I would like to increase that to 1.5-2 lbs. I barely eat anything now so I must need to increase my exercise routine. How much are you losing per week? But for now I will be happy with the progress I have made.....

Had an unfill, now I'm gaining....
Hmarko- You may have a point. During my "episode" I lost 17 lbs (in 3 weeks) so it was quite dramatic. There definitely could have been a level of dehydration as I wasn't able to tolerate much. I feel as though I am at a good stage right now. I am sooo happy I had the unfill. I can actually eat dinner with my family and have a spoon of veggies, starch and a portion of Protein. I haven't been able to do that in ages. Hopefully over the next couple of days I will see a decrease now that I have increased the exercise routine. We will see???

Had an unfill, now I'm gaining....
Ok, my last thread was about the pains I was going through with my fill making my band too tight. Cause I was PBing, and Sliming, and throwing everything I ate back up. Anyway, I went in and got an unfill and now I have gained 4lbs. I only eat 1/4 - 1/2 of food with each meal--- so I'm not overdoing it. I just don't understand why have gained so much. The Dr. only removed .3 cc's and I don't need anything added back. I feel this may be good amount of Fluid for me but why am I gaining????

Christmas Weightloss Challenge
Not a good week for me. I had fluid removed from the band and it's that TOM. I am sad to say I gained 4 lbs.

Too tight and miserable...
Well, my Dr. did remove approximately .4 cc's from the band leaving 6.1 cc's. I must say I do in fact feel a difference but I still eat very little. For months I have not been able to fix a plate of Protein, starch and veggies and enjoy the meal as a dinner. For me I take a few bites of something and then I'm full. Is this normal? I definitely can not eat 1 cup of food--- not even a 1/2. I think I may have past my sweeet spot without knowing what signs to look for. I now understand being tight is not the purpose of the band however, the bands purpose is to provide a level of food restriction in order to prevent overeating. I didn't understand it's purpose initially or should I say I was expecting tightness to be the primary goal. To be honest I may need more Fluid removed from the band in order to reach my sweet spot. I'm a bit confused. Any thoughts or suggestons????

Too tight and miserable...
Hmarko- I am glad you feel better! Initially my Dr. wanted me to stick it out as well but it has been 3 weeks & I can only eat 5 bites of food without PBing... Thank you for the encouraging words and I am looking forward to a little relief a.k.a. unfill (a small unfill)

Too tight and miserable...
I thought I could tough it out but not being able to eat anything along with the sliming, PBing and burping I can't take it any longer. I go in tomorrow for a small unfill. The coordinator at my Dr.'s office was upset that I took so long to call them and stressed the importance of listening to my body. I was so happy to see the weight dropping that I forgot about my health. I'm looking forward to feeling better...

Calling all july '09 bandsters!!!!!
Hello All, I was banded on 7/16. Currently, I am down 44 lbs and would like to lose an additional 26. I have experienced ups and downs with my fills. So far I have had 3 fills and right now I am sooo tight it is uncomfortable to eat. I have tried to tough it out but have decided to go in for a slight unfill this week. I try to exercise for at least 30 minutes 3-5 times per week. Once I get this slight unfill I should be much better.... I hope! I have decided not to tell anyone about the surgery except family and close friends and my co-workers have become quite curious. But I'm not telling....:willy_nilly: My clothes have become so baggy and now I questioning if I should begin shopping or should I wait. Have you all decided to shop or are you waiting?

Too tight and miserable...
It's been 3 weeks and not much has changed! I think I may need to get a small unfill this week. If I drink Water I'm full for hours and can't eat anything. If I eat, I can't drink anything. It has gotten a little better, as of now I can eat 4-5 bites with each meal and that's it for hours. When I initially got the fill water wouldn't go down--- so things have improved. But I don't think I'm getting enough Protein. Also I have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. Should 4-5 bites be sufficient? For example yesterday I ate 1 shrimp, 1 sushi roll, 1 wingette (not an entire wing), 3 teaspoons of oatmeal, 4 oz of water & 8 oz of tea. My stomach wouldn't allow anything else in and I actually slimed a bite after each meal. Is this normal?

SIL - Single Incision Lapband
Hello, I too, had the single incision on 7/16/09! I can feel my port very easily right beside my belly button. It's funny you mentioned the restriction...before my last fill my restriction varied from day to day. One day I could barely eat anything and the next I can eat an entire plate. This may be extremely normal???? I do love the fact of only having one incision which is not noticeable at all!!! My Dr. constantly says "Are you sure you have the band because I don't see a thing!"

Too tight and miserable...
You all have great suggestions and I thank you. It's great having a wonderful medical team but to speak with people who have experienced the same thing is even better..... I have been much better...YEAH! Yesterday I ate Soup and then later 3 teaspoons of mashed potatoes and it stayed down. I drink 2-4 ounces of liquid every hour. So things are improving. I can't eat much but over time hopefully I can get back up to 3/4 to 1 cup per meal. Before the fill I noticed my restriction was very light and I was snacking between meals. So hopefully in a week or so I will be at my sweet spot????? But if I begin bringing things back up I will definitely go in for a small unfill. Oh.... and it was my TOM and now it's going away so she could have made things more intense for me! Mimi -I hope you feel better soon. I now understand how terrible you can feel when things are not going down properly. Try Soups and Water until you feel better.

Anyone banded on 7/16...
So how are you all doing?????? For me, I am 1 lb away from being out of the 200's. I haven't been this size since 2000 (before the birth of my son). I recently had my 3rd fill and I am really tight right now. Trying to decide if an unfill is needed. My exercise has increased and I do at least 5 days a week for 30-40 minutes. I have finally realized with or without the band...the only way to be healthy with weight loss is to exercise and eat a proper nutritious diet. I took awhile for that fact to set in but I think I have it now. Please let me know how things are going for you!

Too tight and miserable...
Mimi--You are so right we do not want to let any fluids go... restriction is all I want but I don't want to feel sick. I just read from another post that your menstrual cycle can cause the band to be tighter. Well my cycle started the day after this fill. That may be the reason for the tightness as well. It wasn't aware it could affect that at all. This is so interesting..... Has anyone heard of this before?

5cc Fill, menstral cycle, Now water gets stuck...?
I am soooo happy I have read this post. I am in the same situation. I had my fill on Tuesday, 5.5 cc's in a 10 cc band, and Tuesday and Wednesday I was able to keep liquids down. But my cycle came Wednesday night and I have not been able to keep anything down. My Dr. has put me on liquids for the next few days and I don't want an unfill because I need restriction. It's good to know that all of this may be over in a couple of days..... This is so interesting! Good luck to you and hopefully things will get better for us!

Too tight and miserable...
Thank you all very much for the support and suggestions. I did in fact call my Dr. yesterday (after having 5 episodes of not keeping anything down) and he has taking me off of solids. He wanted me to come into the emergency room for an unfill as he was concerned about me dehydrating. But I didn't really want to go (being stubborn). OK so this is the plan--- I must drink 2-4 ounces of liquids every hour. I can have Soup but nothing solid. He believes my stomach is swollen and now irritated from the vomiting episodes. If things aren't better by the time he calls today (which they have been) I must come in for an unfill. I hope this works and things get better. Since speaking with everything has stayed down YEAHHH!!! I even had 5 teaspoons of soup last night and 10 ounces of Water. I know this is very little but it's more than I have had since Tuesday and it stayed down.... Has anyone else ever been this tight and did it get better without an unfill?

Too tight and miserable...
My Dr.'s office is closed today and will not reopen until Monday. When I received my 2nd fill I was really tight in the begining but as time went by it did loosen up. I'm not sure if it will do the same this time. I hope it will and then I can be at my sweet spot. I don't know what to do or what to eat!
