Disappointed
So I have been a member of LBT for a little over a month. Since then I have been banded and have received most of my knowledge about my procedure from this website. I have also been the victim to various forms or harassment and abrasive comments. These things deemed "okay" because profane language was not used but very insulting all of the same. Why would you come to this website and know that is about receiving and sharing your knowledge about this procedure but yet criticize someone who is trying to change their life? Are you really that miserable? Is life that tough for you? I may have been over 300lbs but never had to endure the "pain" of being fat. I am very successful for my age and although I was obese, I was content and happy with my life. This is simply for my health. Not to wear the clothes that I wanted..because I already had. Not to attract more men...because I already have a very attractive boyfriend. Not to do more things..because there was nothing that has stopped me from doing what I want. I have to chop up all the negativity to pure jealousy.... Don’t spend your life being miserable... Grow up!! Half of these negative comments are coming from people twice my age. Get a life...and get some professional help.

Ghetto
I now understand why your soo jealous of me... A little birdie told me that your not even banded.... Hilarious!!!!!!!!!! Oh your sooo mad and bored and fat and miserable...I knew I was going to be laughing at your ignorant self, just didnt know it would be so soon.

Ghetto
And yet you were the ignorant imbecile that started it all...

I'm approved!
Congrats... I hope you get everything and more out of this procedure..

Ghetto
Thank you for posting this.. I use curse words to get my point across while some people feel as though their rude behavior is "okay" because they do not use profane language. The attitudes of some of the people on here is very harsh. We all have questions and I believe that if you want to answer those questions it should be done without attacking people and their character. I shouldnt be judged in the way I defend myself and nor should anyone else. I did not start my post with calling people "fat asses" and that is not what anyone should remeber most about my thread. Everyone that saw a problem with my response to these people that think they know it all, I cant offer you anything and definetly not an apology. My responses were not meant for you or anyone else that read that post. They were response to those who felt the need to attack my character.

5th Day out and yes I ate Chicken!!
No there was plenty of people that told me what the problem was and why I shouldnt be eating solid foods. They got their point across just fine without attacking my character. You and the pool girl just need to have a fat pity depressed party togather because that is obviously what your life consist of. Just because your twice my age it does not give you any right to tell me what you think I should do and be lucky that you called me ghetto over the computer and not to my face because you would have seen the gorilla come out of this girl  Now since you like to make a negative comment on everyone that supports me and my decisions I will no longer dignify your petty responses with a comment. Have a good day and I hope that you lose all the weight that you want but when you dont and your still fat and miserable and "looking for those donuts", just know that theres this sexy "ghetto" girl from VA smiling and laughing at you.

5th Day out and yes I ate Chicken!!
Came here and posted this thread for guidance and I did end up getting the information that I needed for me not to feel as though eating a piece of chicken is okay. I was not informed like most of you all seem to have been. I was fortunate enough to not go through any hassle at all getting banded. I didnt attend one seminar and only had one doctors appointment before my surgery date. Maybe I jumped the gun..maybe not...but when someone reaches out to you the best thing I think to do is infrom not crituque or act as if you know my situation.

Another one bites the dust
I was banded a week ago and I never looked at this thread...and I am terrified about what will happen if I dont succeed. I found myself losing the 21lbs that I have lost not because I feel full off of mashed potatoes and protien shakes, but because of pure will power! Which I had before the surgery...(I lost 40lbs on my own). I am concerned however that this was just a waste of time/money/pain. I hope that my surgery turns into a positive experiance but what if it doesnt? What if I am just as fat as I have always been and I cant eat what I want at all ever? I dont think that is how I want to spend the rest of my life....

Can You loose it without the fills
This was a question that I had...I have lost 21lbs in 2 weeks and can feel restrictions with soft foods so I know it will get better with solids.... Since I have to pay for my fills by myself I just think I will wait until im eating like a cow again...

Sex after Banding
You are better than I cause I tried on my 6th day and it was hell...day 9 was much better...but it shouldnt mess up anything...just do positions that are comfortable...

5th Day out and yes I ate Chicken!!
Thanks for the info..[QUOTE=RestlessMonkey;1282987]If we remove all the emotion from this thread, the facts are that eating solid foods too early post op is a major cause of slips, either immediately or on down the road (when you are a year out and think "why me?") The OP asked "DID I HURT MYSELF" (paraphrasing) and the answer is maybe. CAN I EAT OR DO I HAVE TO WAIT 24 DAYS. Do what your doc tells you. We have different post op diets. People, our surgeons are different. They have different skills. Populations eat differently. (My city is one of the chubbiest in the nation, for example) If your surgeon says "have a cheeseburger on the way home if you want, you'll be fine" then you probably will be (and you don't need to post about it on here...your doc has given you the green light!) If your surgeon says "only Water for 7 days" then do that. The hunger drive is STRONG. It is a basic drive. And some of us aren't properly educated beforehand about how important it is to allow our bands and stomachs and ports and so on to heal. So we are STARVING and we eat. We don't know it will hurt, we just know it hurts to be hungry. There's a difference between lack of education and complete disregard for consequences; most of us just don't know. When we digest our stomachs churn like little washers (as it has been told to me). That action can, depending on how healed you are, tear loose sutures that hold the band in place. You end up back in the ER with a slip (it's happened...I've found posts on here that address that) or you may loosen the bond forming between your band and stomach and set yourself up for a slip later on. Will this happen to everyone? NO. Do you want to chance it? Only you can answer that. It's a roulette wheel with your band and your health. On the one hand...the pain of hunger. On the other...the chance of a slip now or later. Once you know that, decide. If you MUST have permission to "cheat", ask your doc. See what he says. You may get to advance early; you may be told to come in and get checked out, and then re-educated about the importance of following the diet (I've read both reactions) Google this, ask your doc, if you doubt.

Girdles, Cinchers or even spanx
I always wore a girdle since I was 12!! I think it has helped cause I have a fat girl flat girl tummy anyway...I'm 8 days out and put my girdle back on 2 days ago...I missed it... BTW the most comfortable ones come from the Avenue they are like panties that stretch all the way to your under boob...comfy and does the trick...look at my pictures!!
