Surgery Date!
Not at the moment. I just want it done and to not gain weight when I have additional heart surgeries. Being able to lose the weight and then lift weights again will be so great! Thank you!! [emoji4]

Transplants patients?!
Ok, is there anyone who may need a transplant at some point in their life for a congenital defect (something they were born with) that has had the RNY?

caffeine and alcohol
[emoji15] never. I think some do 4-6 months out. Like a sip. It's not recommend ever because it causes ulcers. It's hard to get an answer on this. Everyone is different. There is cross addiction and it's not great for weight loss but we all want to know the million dollar answer because we also want to enjoy life and have a few drinks again at some point.

Scripps Mercy?
I'm on one Kaiser page on FB. Which one is it? I have "special" privileges at sunset because my cardiologist are there and I've had so many surgeries and procedures but they can't do bariatric surgery at sunset or anywhere in LA, so I have to go to scripps. I would love to join another Kaiser group with more SD people. Did you get a private room? And it may not even matter, I'll probably be on the cardiac ICU floor after....
-
Scripps Mercy?
Has anyone had surgery at this hospital and how was it? Is there private rooms? Kaiser contracts with them. And I'm having to go there, so that I have cardiac care after. I love Kaiser and a little worried about a non Kaiser hospital. Thanks!

Eating everything...
I am not seeing a therapist and really resolved a lot of my good issues when I began to lose weight. During my classes it has been the most stressful time in my life. I had to send my brother to rehab and lost both grandparents within 3 weeks of each other. And I learned I am not as much of a emotional eater as I had thought I was. Now it's more of being anxious for the surgery and just waiting...and when I eat certain things I think "oh I won't be able to eat this again" so I eat it. I'm at the point where I am so close to surgery I just want it done, and to be over with and start my new life.

Eating everything...
A food funeral. LoL! And I know I can do the lifestyle changes. I've kept a huge amount of weight off. It's a total "food funeral". When you exercise you don't have that oh no, I can't eat that you have the I don't want to eat that. I have a total food funeral going on...[emoji30]

Eating everything...
So surgery will be in April. I don't have to lose weight for surgery because I lost a lot on my own prior to deciding to have RNY. Anyways I can't stop eating. I feel like after surgery I'll never eat again so I want to eat everything. Anyone else have this happen?! :/ Somedays I still do good and through my 12 weeks of classes I have pretty much stayed the same weight. So I'm not losing but I'm not gaining either...thoughts?!

Divorce after WLS
I am sorry, everyone has said such wonderful things. I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers, along with the in laws and the ex. Hopefully they will exit your life peacefully and allow you to begin to heal. You are a strong woman, and you will be ok, as bad as it seems...things will get better. My best friend is going through a divorce and it has been awful for her. All of us are here for you. And sometimes just writing down what you're feeling and hearing the words "we are here for you" can be such a comforting thing. Don't hesitate to reach out, we all need support, love and friendship during rough times and joyous times. Just think of how strong you will be after this life trial is over!

Question about SO
Thanks for the responses. He will be at the hospital. And I have told him but I haven't had a real "serious" talk about that just because my body will change doesn't mean I will. He's been through so many surgeries with me but they were heart ones and totally different. And he's loved me when I was thinner and larger I think it's sinking in, that I am really doing this and it will change our lives.

Question about SO
So my SO is totally supportive and has been really excited for me but now that surgery is getting close, he keeps making comments about when I'm skinny and different sly things about how I will prob leave. My surgery is really high risk. I know he's scared to death and now I think he's starting to question us. He doesn't have a weight issue and works in the entertainment industry. He's never had a problem with confidence and is the life of the party. Anyone have any tips? Do I just ignore it? Reassure him? Let him act like a whiney baby?[emoji38] Why are they so complicated ?! [emoji13]

Very excited for my new life!
How is the recovery going?

Constipation
Ok. I've kept the weight off for 3 years but can't seem to lose anymore mostly do to my cardiac condition I was born with. The Doctor had wanted me to switch to a higher Protein shake. But if we can blend and not worry much then maybe I'll go back to my old shake and just add an extra half scoop to get to what he's wanting me to have in protein until surgery. Thanks!
-
Constipation
Ok, so I am almost done with my classes with Kaiser been approved by everyone through Kaiser. Now just waiting on my cardio, and the outside surgeon to "discuss" my baffles that were created in my heart when I was a baby. Anyways...I have started adding protein shakes to my diet, and I am horribly constipated...anyone else have this issue?! When I originally lost a lot of weight I used a different protein but it's one I blend, and they advise not doing that because of air after surgery. I don't remember being constipated before, but I was exercising like a crazy person and drinking coffee, which gets things movin'! What do you all think?!?

Bypass vs. Sleeve

Eating more than the surgeon recommends
@Dub Throughout history there have been no big developments without the presence of the fairer sex. I'm all about some female intuition and guidance. Without this there can be no progress. HAHA LOVE THIS!!! It is true both ways. And does anyone know the "rules" on the "men" only and "woman" only or where to find them? I am not really a rule follower in general but I do want to be sensitive to people's emotional well being and don't want to offend anyone. CHEERS!

Eating more than the surgeon recommends
@@Dub SO I don't know the rules on "men only" are we allowed to crash the party and ask questions?! Anyways, you mentioned drinking...my BF and I like to go out and have appetizers and drink. Every class at Kaiser says you CAN NOT drink...I don't drink often but there are times when we like to go to Hollywood, and sit on sunset and people watch a drink a few. Is this still possible? I am leaning towards the RNY, and will have surgery in April.
