  1. I havent been on this site for a couple of years but thought it was time I got back on. For any Melbourne folk out there - this Sunday 22nd Nov there is a get together at the settlement hotel in Cranbourne. From 1pm a group of us are getting together, we meet in the cafe area just insdie the main front door, NOT in the bistro. There is a little mezzanine area that we use. Anyone and everyone is welcome whether banded, thinking of banding or family, friend of bandits. These get togethers have been known to go from lunch to dinner. There is plenty of variety for those wanting to order liquids, food, or just come along for a cup of coffee or a drink. No pressure just come along and say hello and youll be made most welcome. The settlement is on the corner of south gippsland highway and camms rd, diagonally opposite mc donalds.
  2. Aussie 40 - I am your twin, i could so easily have been me writing your post. I was banded at the avenue and lost most i the first 10 months, now hitting the bad foods, yes ice cream chocolate and cheesecake are also my downfall along with ice coffee. I dont feel I can have any more fill and have cancelled an appt for tomorrow cos I know I have gained. need to really get motivated somehow but dont know how to get back on track.
  3. Hi Sarah, welcome. I am sure you will get better each day, the first few are the hardest, the shoulder pain being my main problem 5 days post op. I am also in berwick, could be neighbours.
  4. Hi everyone, another get together is planned for sunday May 4th at the settlement in cranbourne, south east melbourne. Starting at 1pm and finishing who knows when, our usual pattern is to go on for several hours with some coming and going as their plans for the day demand. The booking is under the name of Michele and is in the bistro at the back of the hotel. All levels of diet are catered for, some just come for drinks others have full on meals, soup, snacks, some treat themselves to coffee and cake :w00t: Jeri Sue Rosa Michele Ann Kathleen H Judy Erina it would help if you can post here to help with numbers.
  5. Gosh susannah you have done so well. I would never have recognised you. hope you are able to make the next get together at cranbourne. I will be getting there but late as I have a flight home from queensland that arvo.
  6. Posting from another banding website - all are welcome Hi All, I am organizing a get-together for anyone who has had or is thinking of having or who has family and freinds who would like to have a cuppa and chat about our journeys. We have met previously at The Settlement Hotel (see details below) because this venue allows for those that may be on fluids, those that may want to have lunch or alternatively, others like me, who use it as an opportunity to have coffee and cake. Please let me know if you are coming so that I can book a table. I look forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. See you on the 4th May!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one_elle26 Get Together 4th May 2008 at 1.00pm at The Settlement Hotel South Gippsland Hwy (cnr Camms Rd) Cranbourne 3977 (03) 5996 3300 www.thesettlement. com.au
  7. Hi Jachut -yes I remember our meet up, it was great and we should do it again. What day/time suits you? Are you still at uni this year? Mondays and Wednesdays are out for me but the other days are usually doable other than this coming Thurs - Tues, am off to the Gold Coast for a few days. I met with Michellebell this morning and we had a lovely time despite my 2 year old grandaughter needing to go to the toilet 5 ot 6 times in the short time we were at moods - the joys of toilet training!!
  8. Hi I am in Berwick and happy to meet for a chat. I was banded in Aug 06, had a great 12 months but been very slack of late. There are often get togethers but I am more than happy to meet. Name the time and place and I will do my best, Mondays and Wednesdays are out but other times ok
  9. someone a few posts back was asking about costs if she needs a fill while here in aussie land from the UK. but yes handy to know about it. Medicare has a brochure, some of the other countries are NZ and Malta.
  10. Medicare has a reciprocal arrangment with some countries of which the UK is one so not sure what the situation would be.
  11. Prof O Brien from the avenue.
  12. knox isnt all that far from you, check out the posting re dinner next tuesday on Eastern Surgical Online and also cranbourne is a nice drive on a sunday. I was also banded by Prof O Brien, was doing great but had some fill out for an o/s trip and desperately need it put back in. I have lost the plot a bit so hopefully can get back on track.
