I'm glad your doing good with your band. I have been denied but am going to appeal waiting to talk to the Albany office and see what all I need to do since I'm changing doctors and all. Did you like the Albany office?

Dr. Joe Burnette - New Bandster
Hi! Sorry it took me so long to reply! Between work, school, and trying to get approved for surgery I've had little time to do anything. I have changed doctors and will be using Dr. Burnette and Phoebe too. I'm tired of getting the run around from the hospital here and there's other reasons that I don't think I need to post here. The staff at Phoebe has been really helpful and seems to know what their doing. I'm trying to be optimistic that everything is going to work out. I'm just mad that I paid the hospital here so much money for nothing. They make you pay $75 to see the dietician, $175 to see the counsler, and $545 to see the NP and see doesn't do anything really. Other people I've talked to that have had there surgury's at other facilities haven't had to do this. How do you like the band?

Dr. Joe Burnette - New Bandster
Hi! I'm from Valdosta, Ga working with Dr. McCowans office but having some problems with my insurance. I have Aetna and now they are telling me I have to do a 6 month doctor supervised wt loss program or a 3 month program with a dietician and of course the dietician that works with Dr. McCowan is out sick for who knows how long and can't find a dietician..starting to have my doubts the office here is no help at all. Did you have these problems?

yeah its funny my whole life I've been trying to lose weight and now I find out I would be approved if I was heavier. I wish I could have done this years ago I about killed myself working out all the time and starving myself when I was younger got down to 130 and everybody told me I needed to eat then I eat and am told I need to diet can't win for losing. I want the band for me not to please anyone else just want to feel better and have more energy. Also, want to be happier with myself.

Please help..Aetna POS II requirements
Hi! I'm sorry you were denied. What did you have to do for the 3 month program? I'm really getting frustrated with the surgeons staff they didn't even know that Aetna requires 2yrs of records not 5. I really am starting to think I need to look at other payment options.

Please help..Aetna POS II requirements
Hi, I have Aetna POSII plan and am trying to get approved for lapband surgery. My BMI is only 37 but I have sleep apnea. Now the surgeons office is telling me that I might have to be on a six month wt loss program. I have been working on getting approved since Feb. and now they are telling me ugh. The insurance hasn't denied me yet but the surgeons office told me I need to start the exercise program just in case. Aetna's wt loss requirements are really confusing and I need all the help I can. I saw that some people have done a 3 month wt loss program and was wondering what all I had to do. If anyone has gone through this and can give me some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks
