hi there i too am in the begining phases i'm a self pay who got tired of jumping through the hoops and decided to take out a student loan to apy for this becuase its that important to me. I will say this site is sooooo helpful the people hear are awsome they are very knowledable and so kind i recomend trying the chat room it's a great place to get real time answers. thanks for the replies it really helps in what feels like a lonley place to be i mean considering wls is pretty serious but i've tried it all fromDr. diets to otc vudo to whodu so this is it. I understand the whole it's a tool thing but will it work if i work it, i mean ww works if i work it and so does HCG but i guess what i need to know is why will this work any reply greatly appreciated thanks again:redface:

Tracy i know exactly how u feel now i kno im not crazy well not alone at least:) im self pay shceduled for june 15 and have been going back and forth alomost moment by moment thinking maybe if i just try harder this time. I was intially denied by my insurance last year for lapband. I was quickly let down i have tried dieting and exerise 1000 times since and never stick to any of it my latest great idea was the whole HCG injections although i lost i just couldn't keep it up long term, i have decided i will be self pay i will have my saving bulit up in the next 4 months to have it done in MX by Dr. Kuir (any info helpful) my questions i guess are mainly will it work???????? i can stick to something if i see the progress and also if i really don't feel hungry ( i think) or maybe just wont want to eat cuz i can't. SO would this be the right way to go about i mean wls any help greatly appreciated.:blushing:

i completely understand the anxiety you are having just waiting to hear the great news. I'm so thankful we go on vacation tomorrow or else i think i would literally make myself sick with worry about "if I don't get approved." I already talked to my husband and told him i think it will crush me if i don't get approved, he simply said you cant let it crush you we will get this done one way or another. It rocks having your best friend stand beside you through all the trails of life:) I know that Monday seems eons away but I will keep you in my prayers. all the best to you

I just sent off my packet today to the Hospital who will in turn send it to my insurance for approval. Any of you out there that believe in prayer and know what a difference this band has made or will make for you, please remember me when you say your prayers. I really need this and I know that this will give me my life back. I have found such support on this board, I would be devastated if I get denied. I have a really big trip our first family vacation since my mother passed away 6 years ago. This will be the first time im really just gonna allow my self to enjoy a vacation and even enjoy being a part of every picture that is taken so that I will have plenty of before pics because the after is gonna blow your socks off. I'm truly ready to work my band and follow the regiment that i will need to, to obtain the life i want and know that i deserve but I know that I will need help from my new best friend "Band-ella," (at least thats what I think will name her.) SO once agian if i ever needed the help of a complete stranger in my life it is now. i need all good vibes, prayers, and just geniune support sent my way:) i have only told my HUBBY, my 2 brothers and 1 really good girl friend. I feel that I have enough of a support system here on the boards and with them that I will do just fine:) TIA have a great nihgt

if it helps any we are on the same boat. I have to wait until Monday to see how things will go, I'm still in the getting all my paper work together to send it off to the insurance. I'm so afraid that i will get denied. I guess that's just such a stressor for me. hi there, i just had my phsyc eval earlier this week. it was sooo easy she just asked me normal questions, do i smoke, where i grew up, how many siblings i had, if i was married if so how long, number oof children. that was it i was in and out within 1 hour. I did not have to have a nutrionist for my insurance.

hi there, from what i have been reading on the boards (I'm not banded yet) it seems this is normal your body has to adjust to everything that has happened. I'm sure there will be more comments to come from others that have a lot more experience. best wishes

I have decided to have lap band i have UHC and have my phsyc eval in place today i have all the requirements the insurance has asked for but i can't find an in network provider who does the lapband in the phoenix or california area. URHHHHggg any help is helpful i'm gettin gsoooo frustrated. TIA

in times like this i always try to remember "don's sweat the petty stuff just pet the sweaty stuff." if she is really your friend she will come around regardless of the situation if not than you know you have tons of support here. I joined a couple of weeks ago and I talk more here then with my "friends" we all understand one another, i'm sure once I get the approval i'll be just as nervous as you. remember why you have chosen to do this and pray for all good things:)

i have uhc too and i'm so concerned I don't have enough history so i called the care cordinator and explained that I saw a Dr. in mexico previous to having my PCP here in the U.S. for the past 2 years she said they would take any Dr. notes even if it was from Mexico, I sure hope so. I go for my phsyc eal tomorrow and then i mail off my eval to the clinic. so we will see

Well i hope it all works out for you soon. I have not met him yet or even been to the clinic. My phsyc eval is tomorrow my only thing that is stressing me is that I don't have 5 years medical history of weightloss here in the U.S.for my insurance but when I called the nurse that overlooks everything said they would take Dr. notes from Mexico so i hope they will be ok, i treated my self down there for many years befor going to a doc here. We'll see, glad to hear good news about the doc and his staff let me know how it goes for you:) best wishes
