My physician, also in fort Worth, told me that the carbonation would cause your little stomach pouch to stretch, that you would not feel bad in any way when drinking sodas, but would stretch out your stomach above the band, defeating the purpose of the surgery, and nothing that a fill could correct

    If you just were banded on the 5th, don't worry about still needing medication; after all, you did just have surgery. I am a nurse and was banded on May 20th; your experience sounds the same as mine; I had to occasionally take my pain meds for up to 10 days after surgery. I am still suffering from alot of gas. Don't kno w if this is specifically from the surgery or the major change in my diet. Hang in there. I am so happy I proceeded with the surgery. I feel it will really be a blessing to help me with weight loss I otherwise had failed at losing. Good luck.
