  1. Hi guys, I got my band in 2004 at the Richardson Surgery Center done by Dr. Jayaseelan. I didn't have much success with his aftercare because it is hard to get an appointment in with him. So, I started going to see Dr. Maese and at the time my insurance was covering my fills. Now, I have different insurance and they won't cover anything related to the surgery so I will have to pay for fills out of my pocket. I contacted the Richardson Surgery Center today and they said that it would be $100 for a fill. That's the cheapest I have found. My band has been unfilled since 2007 and I haven't had much success losing weight on my own as I have tried to. So, this week I am giving the lap band another shot and will be going to the Surgery Center.
  2. I completely understand your feelings....I'm experiencing similar feelings myself. But, I'm giving it another shot since I actually went that extra step of getting something implanted aroundmy stomach to help me lose the weight. Also, I discovered that the exercise was not helping me....it's never worked that way for me. I actually gained about 8 pounds when I started working out. So for now, I'm concentrating on just the food aspect of it.
  3. Not only am I a slow loser....I am THE slow loser! I can only claim to have lost roughly around 15-20 lbs since being banded in May of 2004. I've been too loose and I've been too tight. I've never really found my "sweet spot". I recently had to have all of my saline taken out because my pills were not dissolving and formed a "barrier" and NOTHING was getting through, water, tea, NOTHING! I have an appointment to get another fill on the 13th of July and hopefully I'll see results then but, it's very very frustrating. I don't exercise like I should but I am starting back so hopefully that will help.
