Hi there, my name is Kasey and I am a 21 year old recent college graduate who has been overweight my entire life. I have always been very active, but I've also always loved to eat. When I was younger I participated in everything from gymnastics, dance, swim team, soccer, and softball, and in high school I was a cheerleader, softball player, and lifeguard. The first time I ever went on a diet was when I was in 5th grade, and ever since then I have been on most everything imaginable as far as weight loss goes. I did the Sugar Busters diet, Atkins, Dr. Phil Weight Loss solution, Weight Watchers, low fat, low carb, doctor ordered, and Slim4Life. Slim4Life actually worked the best for me, and my senior year of high school I was successful in loosing about 30 lbs. in 4 months, however after going away to college I gained all 30 back, plus 30 more. I was diagnosed with prediabetes, insulin resistance, PCOS, metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, high levels of lipo-protein-A (which is a precursor to heart disease) not to mention that I have a terrible family history in the medical department. Finally my doctor suggested Lap Band to me. I didn't know I weighed enough to get the surgery, but was told that my medical problems would more than likely qualify me for it through insurance, which it did. I was banded on May 27, 2009, and so far have lost about 10 lbs. I get my first fill on July 8, 2009, which is coming soon so I'm pretty excited to start loosing again.
