LAP-BAND Patients

I had been considering having surgery  for quite some time. At fist I was thinking gastric bypass, but then I heard about lapband. I've spent my entire life from 1st grade until my adulthood as a FAT person. I decided that I had no luck losing weight , I'd tried every dietprogram known to man. The only way out of this cycle was to go for surgery. I had my surgery in May 2009, Before surgery I needed to lose at least 30 lbs. I spent the whole month of April doing opti-fast drinks, ONLY! That is pretty difficult to go from eating food , to just having liquid meals. However, as time went by I actually found it quite easy. I spent less time in the kitchen, thank god my other half can cook for himself. After surgery, I found alot of ups & downs with eating issues. My weight was coming off frequently, and I was doing walking, hiking & tennis during the summer. I had major issues with keeping food down. Seemed like when I got to the stage for eating regular food I couldn't keep anything from coming up. I was having trouble reminding myself to chew and chew slowly. Continues to happen even now depending on food, & circumstances. I've had 5/6 fills of the band, working well. I finally detect that full feeling. There have been times when I wonder if I made the right choice to have this procedure done, especially when I'm not able to eat correctly. But, I know that eventually when I lose my weight, I will be very happy I made this choice. I already notice major differences in my physical appearence, my movement, and my confidence level.
