  1. hehe kimmason, i'd rather do yogurt honestly than what pple here affectionately call opticrap!!!:biggrin1: i havent tried the optifast yet, but i'm not too encouraged from what i've read other people think about it.
  2. Good Luck Clovermeg! i didn't need a psych exam, maybe they should have checked me considering the way i'm chowing down!:hungry:
  3. Hi Kimmason, I had to wait until my vacation time at work, as i didn't want to tell them what i was doing for sick time. as far as how i'm doing, don't be fooled, 275 is just my all time high, right now, i have gone from 200 to 232 in about 6 months!

  7. Hi Dody, my downfall seems to be mcdonalds fries and cheeseburgers(something i don't usually indulge in) go figure. Thank you for your reassurance!
  8. Thanks so much july5forme, at least i know now that i'm not the only one. And since your liver didn't eplode or anything during surgery :huggie:, I guess i'll be okay too!

  11. Hi Everyone, I am going to be banded Aug 31st. Aug 17th I will have to start my two weeks of Optifast. My problem is, ever since I decided to have this done I have become an eating machine, like never before. I can't seem to control myself. :huggie: Did anyone else go through this? Did you manage to buckle under when the time came for the preop diet? ARghhhh
  12. Hi Yoda! I love target too! we pronounce it tar-jay, to make sound exotic.:biggrin1: I love the walmarts and kmarts in the states too, the walmarts seem to have better stuff than the walmarts here. have fun shopping!

  14. Hi Everyone, As I said before, I'm being banded August 31st. My doc has his patients go on optifast for 2 weeks prior to the surg. (aug 17) to shrink the liver. I found a diet on one of the other boards called the Sacred Heart Medical Diet, it's kinda like the old cabbage soup diet. I want to do this for a couple weeks(aug 3) before i start optifast. I reeeaaalyyy want to jumpstart the weightloss! wish me luck guys.
  15. Hey Diva, I'll be the same way!:biggrin1: Thats why we need the band!
  16. Hey Cloe, I have one of those too! Poor guy, he feels guilty sometimes when he's inhaling something in front of me, and gets all hangdog, and says, "sorry", but keeps on eating! lol
  17. Hi mmschaffer, I am going with Dr. Mumford. I love hearing from pple who are happy with their decision, it really encourages me that I'm making the right decision. I live south of Toronto, tho, near Windsor. I broke down and told my sister who lives in Mississauga about the surg. so I'm going to stay with her for a couple days, which makes the whole thing a bunch easier, especially on the dh!
  18. Wow Margo, you go girl. I would be excited too, if I felt comforatable in a sleeveless top again! Congratulations on your achievements.
  19. Hi Cindy, Congratulations. I'm waiting for surgery too. This waiting is killing me

  22. see! it's that northern european curse!
  23. my little grandson almost died before they figured out what it was. he was diagnosed at 18 months with a biopsy, and they blood tested his little sister (5 mo) and she had anti bodies too. they say northern europeans have the highest incidence and within that group the irish are even higher. and guess what? we're irish!
  24. Hi Kristin, I dont have Celiac, but two of my grandkids do. It's quite a challenge at the best of times! I really have to give you a big pat on the back for taking on the band as well as Celiac disease! I wish you all the success in the world.
