Hi Blownaway, Welcome!!! Your mom will probably feel better once she asks her questions at the consult. Give her any literature you may have, and you may want to print up anything on the net you find explaining just how safe, easy and reversible the surgery is. Make sure that she knows that your not getting your innards rearranged (i.e. bypass or stapling). Tell her that this surgery is the gold standard in europe. Tell her about all the happy, happy people who post here!!! I had internal stitches that dissovled (i think), and just steri strips over the actual incisions. Let us know how things go, ok?

Wow Yoda, I hope your knee clears up! Don't let the doc brush you off if there's no improvement. Can you brace it maybe? so you could keep exercising? Can he give you an rx for physio?

Hi PeggySue, my dad died suddenly one week before my first child was born. What an emotional roller coaster that was. so i can sympathize wholeheartedly with you right now. Just as i knew my dad would have wanted us to celebrate the baby's birth, I think your dad would want you to move forward with the band and help yourself. If you're a parent, think about how your love for your child far exceeds self love, and you will know that your dad wants to you do well!!!

Mandi dont forget you shelled out 15 grand to lose the weight!!! in my book that just means that you were the most committed to losing the weight!!!heheheh

I got sick in vegas once, and my dh couldnt find immodium or gravol anywhere! That was baaaad. I also got sick in Ireland and wound up in the hospital on a drip. Now i go NOWHERE without my own personal pharmacopia!!!!

I think sherriberry gave mr. neenagh and me the bug! we have both been making increasingly urgent trips to the facilities. Good thing we have more than one bathroom, or it could get ugly!
