I tried going back to work today for a little bit. I just wanted to see how I would do. I got there about 10:30 and it was just a mad house. Lunch came and I drank my soup, then I just had a bad sinking spell. I tried to wait it out til five but no way. So I headed out and got home and slept 3 hrs. So I don't know what I am gonna do when Monday comes around. I hope that work is gonna work with me, cause I don't think that I can handle 9 hrs. I guess I will see. I do feel better today. Allison

Today is a new day isn't it. I do feel better today too.. Thank Goodness. I wasn't for sure yesterday. I am still having some gas pains. I also am not having the nausa like I did yesterday. I am hoping that is gone away. Thinking about going back to work on Monday too. I guess I will just have to see how that does. All I got to say the ones that go right back, your tough. Well I hope everyone is feeling better. I also did get out of the house this morning and took girls to get there shots. Hurts to drive. I think we are all gonna make it.. LOL

Today I thought about what did I do to myself. I finally called my dr. this morning, I could not even move without trying to vomit. He called in some Phenergan for me. So I slept all afternoon. I am trying to sip down a protein shake. i also think those gives me gas. LOL.. Can't win for loosing. But one good thing, the nurse did tell me that by Friday I should feel so much better. I am hoping so. I need to get up and go walk my 35 min. but I just don't know if I have it in me. I sure am glad that I am not on the same boat. Thanks guys. Allison

Ok you are healing, that is why they are itching. Do not put anything on it that is vasiline based. It could soften the stitches or dermbond and bust open. You want them dry and clean. Sorry about all the itching, that is just your body telling you that they are healing fine. Allison:cool:

Ok guys I have another question? I am having alot of of this. When I lay down to take a nap, when I set up I get very very nausated. I just nearly vomit. Lots of saliva in my mouth, I also get jittery and light headed. Is anyone else doing this? Please let me know, and what do u think it is, and what can we do for it. Allison

I hope all of you Aug 10th bandits are doing well. I think I am doing ok. I am really sore at the port site. Got up and walk 35 min. this morning. Dr's orders. It helped. Now sipping on a protein shake. Took a nap, now thinking about going back. Just wanted to check in with ya, give me an update..

I am finally banded... I am going to be honest with everyone, I thought this was going to be easier. I did suppose to stay over night but he let me come home. When I woke up, I was in so much pain that I thought to myself what in the world have I done. I am not having alot of gas pain it is all right there where my port is. I will say the girls at the hospital was great. I knew that I had to get up and get walking, so I did. My husband is also being so good. I am not having a problem getting anything down. I have drank a protein drink, glass of water, 8 0z of chicken broth. I am having alot of itching from the Lortab he gave me. I forgot that made me itch. I don't know if I can take benadryl or not. I guess I will call later and see. I would like to hear from yall that got banded on the 10th. I want to know if yall are having the same port site pain. Hope you are all doing well. Allison

My surgery is Monday. Tomorrow... YEA... I think I am going to stay off a week, if I feel better and up to it maybe go back on Wed or Thurs. I will see. I am a nurse and stay on my feet all day long. I guess it will be good for the gas.LOL.. Allison

I am sorry to hear about your sister. I have found out some people are just mean. They just don't understand. I work in a doctor's office, and a girl that is tall and skinny told another girl if she would just get that twinky out of her mouth she would loose some weight. WTF! I don't eat stuff like that anyways. It is just hard, when people u love is not supportive. I will be here if you need to hollar. Allison

Hello eveyone! I am writing this in green cause it supposed to be calming. I need calming right now. My mind is playing tricks on me, yes and I think I have one. Yesterday was pre-op. What stress.:crying: I went to Dr. Provost office first, had all my visits with the people. Nurse, nutrionist, PA, Dr. and then nurse again. Then I made my way over to the hospital. Paid my money:w00t:, and then over to registeration, and finally pre-op. All they did was draw blood.:wink: I thought they should have done blood, ekg and cxr. So I left. I am just so tense in my shoulders and neck area, I could cry. I am really getting nervous. I have a pain in my right side, like where your galbladder is on left just on my right. I don't have any idea what it is. I just think I am thinking that my body is playing tricks on me. I just don't know. I am excited but Wow it is coming so fast:eek:. I want to thank everyone for everything. Oh and I have to stay over night in the hospital. Why I wonder? Everyone else is getting out, why can't I . Cause I have insurance. Thanks, Allison

Hey guys and gals, Well I gave done my diet for about a whole week now. Monday will be a week. I am so sick of salads that I don't know what to do. I have been drinking 3 protein shakes a day, just to get use to them. I was really worried about them but, not to bad. Vanilla and Choc. now. The orange is nasty from GNC. I have my pre-op on Wed. afternoon. I am so excited. I just can't for the 10th. I am been thinking abot everything that day. If I could get my mom here, I would be doing great. My 3 yr old starts school that day. So it is gonna be full and exciting. I hope everyone is doing well. Allison

ll67, I understand, I have started my pre-op diet today. My stomach hurt all day long. I am on a low fat no carb diet. I think I am getting cold feet. I know that I will feel lots better, and this is due to my health. I will be ok, that is what I keep telling myself. When do you go in for your pre op? Allison

I am to be banded on the 10th also. Today I did all the cleaning out of my cabinets. My family all come home and asked where the food is? We are ALL eating healthier. On Monday I start my Low fat, Carb free diet. Sugar I did not even buy at the store today. Kids will go nuts. Fat free milk. But you know, they will think me in the end, cause I will teach them better eating habbits. Good luch on your journey, keep in touch.

Howdy everyone! I am from Oklahoma. I will be have the surgery done in Denton Tx. by Dr. Provost. I am 31 yrs old. Have one child, two step children, and a husband. Add him to the child list. :mad: I weigh 273 right at this moment. Surgery is being done on Aug 10th. :tongue2: I am so ready. I start the pre-op diet tomorrow. It is high protein, no carb diet. but at least I get to eat. I am so excited to get to know all of you, while we start this beautiful journey. I have been reading all of your post.
