ok finally settling down. I had fish too Nicole, no sides pure protein. I'm getting back on the band wagon. up 1 lbs focus focus focus. Hey you know what Dr Park put on my visit slip? be at or below todays weight. Well that is 3 lbs below my goal I hope my goal wt hasn't changed. Oh and she sent me another email to let me know I'm still on the schedule :thumbup: I guess she is tired of seeing my name in her inbox LOL. Analyssa I think Dr Park is pretty cool, but I'll be able to give the full low down next week whoo hoo!! Candra you need to at least tell bridezilla that you are having a minor 'procedure' can't make the cakes so she can get off your back. Even if you tell her it's dental work, will you run into her in the next couple weeks?

hey there ladies....... What a crazy morning! Well don't know if you heard but they opened the bridge at 6:30 this morning after saying it would be closed. I was just about to pour myself a cup o'joe and relax....Bam had to spring into action and come to work. I was already hesitant to stay home because I have soooo much to do before next week. Anyway I called my PCP and they tried to give me an appointment for 9/14 with my PCP, mind you my surgery is the 16th. Of course I told them it was too close so they are supposed to be calling me back with an appointment this week. In the meantime I emailed Dr P and sure enough she responded like in 10 min to say the 14th is ok. I think I'm going to still try and get this off my plate this week. But then again I'm concerned that whoever is covering for my PCP may be anti band, in that case hold me up. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the support, but I'm a bulldog when it comes to stuff like this so I'm sure I can handle it I just need to vent to you all :mad:

Reggie- now I'm worried if you saw Tom and we both have DR Park.

I just hope she didn't leave that off since she was giving me the run around about the PCP and the cardiologist. In fact I think she is going to try and cancel my surgery. I have something else coming for her though. Somebody is going to give me an ok, even if I have to go through the whole damn dept.

I'm going to call the nurse 1st thing in the morning. The stupid bridge is still closed so I'm going to telecommute tomorrow. Also means I can't go to Kaiser. ok so I'm trying to get ready for the big day by reading all the old posts and surgery day stories. I'm on page 55 LOL 2 things, 1-I did not meet with anyone else besides Dr P on Friday, I remember someone saying I would meet with a guy??? 2-I didn't get any anti nausea meds, In fact all they told me was to call the day before to get my time and show up. Does this sound right? Candra was yours any different?

Hi John, Welcome, I don't have to tell you how supportive everyone here is so yes, chime in. I met someone at one of the support groups that was having the sleeve, she said from Richmond but I don't know. Hmm, can't remember the guys in our orientation, I don't think there were many. Congrats on the weight loss that's awesome.

hmm my experience is different. I'm with Kaiser in Nor Cal, are you in So Cal? I think the process is a bit different. I have comorbids so I was recommended by my PCP. The thing with us is that you have to loose 10% of your weight before you can get a surgery date. I've enjoyed the group meetings though it is not required and reading stories online. I think it has helped me to get ready for this.

I had to do something it was more for my health. Thanks for saying that. People always wonder why. You are right, why wait til I get older and bigger.

Wow Dee I just noticed that we started at the same wt & our surgery is a day apart. We have to keep in touch.

Hmmm I was just looking at the visit verification I got from Dr P on Friday and at the top it says Bariatrics surgery department. It also has that I'll be having surgery on 9/16 with 4 weeks off. I guess I can't give that to the job. Hopefully the form from the Med secretary wont have that bit of info. Have a great day everyone.

Hey Dee, Soco, yea I had no choice on the pre-op diet. Im with Kaiser so i had to loose 10%. But I did it! Now I'm just trying to get all my supplies etc together. Bought some soups, broth and jello. I'm going to pick up some of the mouth spray you mentioned. How's all the other post ops?

wow everyone is very quiet..... I went to a pool party today, didn't do too bad with food. I did have some carbs fruit and french fries, and Had fish. Just kind of hung out around the pool so no real exercise. Wow can't believe the weekend is almost over.

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm getting banded on 9/16, so excited. It's nice to read your stories of being banded in the last few days, and those of you looking forward like me. Take care and congratulations.

Heather I've been a few times to that group mtg. on the 1st Wed they split into 2 groups half pre half post op then they meet in the last 30 min all together the posts tell their story and then there is a little meet and greet towards the end. The 3rd Wed is both groups together the whole time. I went just to do my weight checks. This last group session was with Liz who doesn't have the "touch" as Bev so there was a different dynamic. If it's not too far to travel I'd say check it out.

Just getting back from walking the bridge, yea, had to try and walk off a few of those oatmeal cookies I ate yesterday. Sounds like everyone is busy busy this weekend. A friend is having a pool party today so maybe I'll go and hang out in the water this afternoon. good luck with the unpacking Nicole.

wow Tina, 50 lbs Woo Hoo. I've had a bad food day today, snacking and cookies. I guess I'll be trying to get it together by tomorrow. Obviously I can't handle just hanging around the house doing nothing yet, ugh How was the greek fest? The b-day parties? Everyone else's day?

Donna I wish I could go to lunch with you guys but I already know those days are out for me. Even next weekend is going to be tough. My husband asked me if I wanted to go to cashe creek before the surgery!!! Is that nice or what? He hasn't really been all that inquisitive about it so I've been telling him about the appts and you guys with no real response. Last night he asked me when the procedure was and about cashe creek. I think he is seeing how excited I am and that I'm serious so he's soften up. Tina that is cool that you got to talk to Dr Baggs did you tell him about your fainting? Well I hope you all can ease your commute for the fills by going to vacaville. But, how often do you get fills? don't you get to your sweet spot and then stop? When is the group fill in Pinole? 24th? Maybe we can do a walk then? I think I should be up and around by then so Candra & I can join you all.

morning all, I was going to go do the bridge today but I think I'm gonna just stay home and lay around. Wow Tina that's not good. That happened to me at an out door concert. They took me to the medics and told me I didn't have enough water, did you? Be careful remember you just had a fill if anything call the bariatrics dept after hours number. Anyway have fun and the greek festival. Candra, I meant to call you yesterday but I was so wrapped up in my Dr P drama. whatever! Have fun at the parties. Check in with me, I don't have any thing planned this weekend, which is a good thing.

Remember I had a heart attack before so that's why. The point is my PCP is the one who wants me to get this, I wasn't even considering it. I told Dr P that but she still said I need to do this. Why didn't she say something when I met with her the 1st time. We talked about my heart and she said that lap band would be better than RNY for me blah blah blah. I mean why can't she just go through my chart and figure it out for herself? CYA I guess. At any rate nobody called me back from the PCP's office, that would have been too much like right. I'm determined to get this done so I will be on the phone with them 1st thing Tuesday morn. Don't forget I work a half block from my PCP's office at Kaiser and I don't have a problem just showing up.

It's me again...still frustrated. I got a response from Dr Park "there should be a medical doctor covering for your regular one. The covering doctor should be able to facilitate or do the assessment." Come on I could have taken care of this months ago had I known. I now have 4 working days to find a doctor and get an assessment and I better hope they are not anti weight loss surgery.:sneaky: I guess I better not piss off Dr P since she'll be cutting me open here soon. She probably already thinks I'm a nut job because I spent 10 min discussing the scar she was going to leave. BTW thanks Donna, I need the reassurance right now.

I just got off the phone with the advice nurse of my PCP just in case she has her out of office on early. Somebody is supposed to call me back but I'm not holding my breath.
