All went well though it was a long day. From time of check in to release was 6 hours. Then 5 hr drive home but thanks to pain meds I slept some.
  2. My surgery day was yesterday April 22, 2009. Everything went great! The only thing wrong was with me. My daughter had surgery in July 08. I was expecting my experience to be like hers but Our doc had changed surgery centers since her surgery. She was in and out within 2 hours. I had to wait one hour in waiting room and then another two hours for surgery. Then 3 hours for surgery and recovery. All in all though it was not a bad experience ( I did laugh when they did a pregnancy test - I'm 51 !) Also I'm working today the day after surgery and my daughter had to take a week off. She had lots of pain. I haven't taken anything but tylenol today. She has lost 80 lbs and looks great.!
  3. Yeah!!!! Surgery done and feeling really good ! I'm at work but taking it easy. Did sip a little coffee this morning, but now drinking my proein water.

I think its the travel afterwards I'm concerned about. Supposed to stop and walk every hour. That should be fun!

I'm not too nervous. I will be making a 5 hr drive to and from the hospital. Hoping for enough pain med to hopefully sleep most of the way home.
  6. Glad to be onboard! Surgery day is this Wed. This has all happened so fast for me. Doing self pay so I know that sped it up alot. Had consultation last Thurs. Saw psychologist, met with nutritionist and surgery date set for this Wed.. I'm also only having to drink the protein shakes two days. They aren't too bad as long as I water them down. They are way too thick! Good luck to all and I'm really glad to have someone to go through this with.
