My lapband story - wow, where to begin.  I have been heavy all my life.  Maybe that's not quite true.  I've been heavy since I was about six, so practiaclly all my life.  After giving birth to my first child, a beautifull little girl, I decided that I was done with the dieting, done with the obesity.  I wanted to make a change.  I had tried everything under the sun, Weight Watchers, exercize, medication, on and on and on.  Nothing worked for me.  So I decided that I wanted to have lap band surgery.  I was afraid of gastric bypass because I had friends that suffered pretty serious complications.  I didn't want to do anything that was going to put my life in danger, especially with a new baby in my life.  I was very lucky to have good health insurance, and I was quickly approved for surgery.  I made the decision to have surgery in January, and was banded by April 8.  I just had my second fill yesterday, and I am feeling great.  I am down about 30 pounds, and ready to lose more.  This has been the best decision I have ever made.  I can't wait to keep going!
