  1. Hi Everyone, I was banded last November 2008. It's been an experience! Right now I am in search for Breakfast ideas that will jump start my metabolism for the day and not be too fattening or gummy. I'm tired of Cereals and just yogurt. I don't do breads well. If anyone has some ideas I'm be extremely grateful. If you want you can email me at kimandsam2002@yahoo.com Thanks, Kimmie:thumbup:
  2. Hi Paula,

Wow, sounds like you are doing good. I'm glad for you. I'm sorry you don't have internet anymore. It really helps when you are in need of an answer to a question you might have. Keep up the good work, and you have a very Merry Christmas!!

  3. How are you doing? It seems like forever since I've been here? How are things going for you.? Let me know, I'm dying to find out. Love kim

    Band Filled to its Capacity

I'm going to ask a question that might seem stupid, but here it goes anyway. I've been reading posts about people having lapband that hold 4cc and almost being full. I was banded last November and so far I have had 81/2 cc's of saline filled. What exactly is the capacity of the lapband and how will I know if it is full and can't be filled anymore?

    Help........Cold Feet!!!

HI, I understand the concern. It's kind of scary to think that your going to lose weight, but maybe have hanging skin. I was worried about that too. But I have been doing toning exercises while losing. It's nothing big, I'm not trying to become a body builder or anything like that, but it's just enough to tone some. You have to take into consideration that it is possible that this person you were referring to didn't do anything to tone. Also. Trust me, when the wieght starts to come off and you start to feel so much better, the rest really isn't as important as you made it out to be in the first place.
  8. Hi, my name in Kim, I'm 47 years old and I was banded last november the 24th of 2008. I was 301 when I started, and right now I am at 253, depending on whose scale you are wieghting me on. The Doctors scale has me at 260. My surgeon is Dr. McCririe from Hillsdale Michigan. He's been great in the whole process with me. I know there are no stupid questions, but sometimes I am afraid to ask for fear I will look like a fool. I have a problem. I've been fighting pneumonia and sinus infections, but I'm on antibiotics and am getting better. I have noticed that about 3 to 4 days after I get a fill, I start running a fever. I must be really close to my sweet spot, because after this last fill, I was keeping water down at first, but now I can hardly keep my own spit down. I've lost about 10 to 13 pounds in a week. I'm not urinating much and when I do it is a darker gold then usual. I've also noticed my skin is getting so dry. Does anyone know if dehydration could be causing all of this. I am going into the Doctors office tomorrow for an adjustment. I think 1cc was just a little too much for me this time. I look forward to hearing from you and sharing in your experiences. Kim, Camden Michigan

    New, Scared and Confused

Hi, I understand being scared and confused. At first it seems like alot to absorb, and you really do hear alot of pros and cons about it. But when it comes to advice, this is the place to be. There are alot of really super people here that are willing to help, listen, and be your support. Don't be afraid to ask. And don't worry about those who might judge you for not doing it on your own. It isn't the" wave a wand and the fat is gone" magic that some people would like to think is. The lapband is a tool, which helps you to conquer your goals. You still have to do the work, but but with help. It's a buddy system, but your buddy is wrapped around your stomach giving you encouragement. God, I babble to much... Anyway, Welcome, and I look forward to chatting with you. Kim Camden, Michigan

    Hi Everyone

I really like your ticker, I tried to make one for myself, but I apparently don't know what I'm doing? How do you do it?

    Hi Everyone

I went into the doctor today and I had lost 12 pounds in a week. He took out .5cc and I feel like a new woman. I'm drinking protein water and vitamin water to try and rehydrate myself. Thanks so much for the advise. I'm really glad we have a forum like this that we can go to and talk to other with. Thanks again!!! Kimmie

    Looking for MI people

Hi, Yes, I was banded November 24th 2008. I started at 301, and I'm down to about 260, depending on which scale you wieght me on. The Doctors scale always seems to be a little on the heavier side. Keep me posted on your progress. Oh, I'm from Hillsdale county.

Hi Sanderson, I'm from southern michigan. How are you doing?

    Hi Everyone

Thanks so much. It's good to hear from someone who understands and is going through it too. I called the Doctor's office back but he doesn't see people on Mondays, due to surgeries. So tomorrow at 9:00am is as soon as I can see him. I'll do what I can to force fluids, but when they just don't want to stay down what do you do. I hope tomorrow brings better things. Again, Thanks for lending your ear.
