  1. Like it's been said hundreds of times before, every doctor is different. BECAUSE OF THIS, I decided just to be in tune with my body and that worked for me. When liquids wasn't enough, I ate mushy because to me, it obviously meant the swelling was down. Even after fills my doc insists on 2 days liquid but I don't see the point! I don't eat a steak, but I have found no one has a good reason for that! THIS IS JUST WHAT I DO b/c I've always been in tune with my body- don't blame me if that doesn't work! :frown:
  2. I was extremely frustrated! The first 3 was NOTHING! The next two would work for a week or so and then nothing... I'm at 6.75 and in BANDLANDIA!!!!! NOW I see what people are talking about!
  3. I haven't done this in awhile! I was banded May 1st and don't regret my decision- but the decision is yours. I do miss Diet Coke and I sometimes miss being able to eat whatever I want- BUT I NEEDED TO STOP THAT ANYWAY! I am really just now starting to lose. I got the band in May but just got GOOD restriction in September. The bad stuff still goes down easy honestly- it's a decision. For me, I've had no complications or issues (minus the lack of restriction) and am thankful for the opportunity. I can't say I ever doubted- I was very clear this is what I wanted. GOOD LUCK!
  4. Of course I'm supposed to say adhere to the pre-op diet so forth and so on, BUT, as the percentage of people that had to postpone surgery because of a too fat liver is negligible, I TOOK MY CHANCES! Yes, I did do the diet, but I also had a few days of eating. It did make me realize the value I placed on food because I just couldn't get over the shock in "I may never be able to eat _____ again???!!!!" Well I'll eat it now! Anyway, you're not alone! I did it and am STILL happy I did!
  5. ONE WEEK POST OP!!!!!!!!!!! How's everybody doing out there???? My follow up appt went well and I get to have MUSHIES! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! LOL
  6. CONGRATS! I got banded on May 1st so I understand how you feel... I also got liquid vicodin, so I don't know about crushing it, but would check first. My doc had me on only Clear Liquids for the first 4 days and today is day 5 for me. I am currently drinking a Protein smoothie and am having no issues whereas I doubt I would have been able to on day 1 or 2. You're feeling gas pain and there's no telling how long it will last for you because everyone is different. My pain went away yesterday, but only because diarrhea took it's place- fun I know and yes gross, but true! GOOD LUCK!
  7. CONGRATS BRO!!!!! I'm with you, but they gave me two things for nausea- did you get the vibrating wrist thing? I also got a liquid syrup for nausea and pain. GREAT DRUGS!
  8. I'm surprised the doc didn't give you something better! My doc prescribed me liquid Hydrocodone which is the best thing on earth since Jesus Christ! Hope you feel better!
  9. Take me with you!!!!! Whatever happens, I hope you enjoy yourself. I have joked about getting my band intentionally loosened for my trip to Italy next year! LOL GOOD LUCK!
  10. Also not in your area, but that range of emotions sounds about right! Good luck and I wish you the best! I'm 3 days Post-op and it already seems like I'm losing ONE of my chins!!!! The best decision ever!
  11. Jello yes, yogurt not until full liquids. I have slight pain in my chest but that's it. I am NOT going to work tomorrow, although I feel I could. I believe in the body getting the rest it needs. Also, I did get a call from the nurse on Friday.
  12. Congrats to you too!! I'm determined not to weigh myself until my 1 week post-op so I don't get angry! LOL All you do is copy and paste the link you created in ticker factory in your signature under User CP
  13. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Yes I am sore at my upper chest. I keep massaging it and that makes it better. I'm not too sure how much weight i want to lose...I have a good height on me, and I know I'm not trying to be skinny, so I guess we'll see. And yes, my family and friends are great!
