  1. I was banded in April and I know how you feel I didn't have any restriction until my last fill and I have gotten one every 4-6 weeks since surgery. I have about 9 cc's in my band and if I got another fill I wouldn't be able to swallow. There are alot of things I can't eat anymore at all and mostly eat fish. I'm so tight in the morning I can't even eat cottage cheese but the weight is coming off. I've only lost about 25 pounds since surgery and really had to work to lose that but now that I have good restriction it is just melting off. Just be patient and get in for those fills.
  2. I have Great West I had my first consult appointment in December had surgery April 20th.
  3. My surgeon said the acid in the coffee could sit close to the band and cause erosion I was told no coffee for 6 months I lasted 2 without it but finally caved.
  4. My surgeon gave me the rule of no meat in the form of steaks, chops, or roast for one year. I'm not sure why but after having several episodes of being stuck I'm not willing to find out.
  5. Dr Helmuth Billy in Ventura did my band. He is a really good surgeon. I'm not sure of any Docs at Cottage, or if they have a bariatric program.
  6. I like the Nectar Powder from Syntrax, you can get it online or Vitamin Shoppe. It mixes with water instantly and tastes great with Juice or Milk. I have the carribean cooler I mix it with Dole Pina Colada Juice or Milk and Ice the only thing missing is the little umbrella and a lounge chair at the beach. I found that the premade shakes were best for post op I love the Worldwide shakes from Trader Joes or Vitamin Shoppe 35 grams of protein and went down easily in two increments after surgery.
  7. Hello, wow 36 pounds thats great. I also had my surgery on April 21st and didn't have to do a preop diet so I've only lost 5 pounds since surgery.
  8. I got banded on April 21st and today was the first day where I actually could tell that I'm getting better. It still hurts when I get out of bed and even when I stand up after sitting for awhile. I too have bruising by one of my incision but I think that is where they gave me the blood thinner, it also happens to be the biggest incision and where I believe my port is. There is quite a bulge as well so my stomach appears alittle lopsided so I guess maybe its normal. I wouldn't worry unless the incision is red and pussy but if you want piece of mind theres no harm in calling the Dr's office and talking to the bariatric nurse there thats what they're there for.
  9. I am exactly one week post op and am finally able to take a deep breath, it still hurts slightly but not as much as it did. I also had a suprise diaphragmatic hernia that was fixed during surgery which didn't help the breathing situation I'm sure.
  10. I am 5 days post op and I have left side pain when I walk. I also experienced a liquid in liquid out suprise on one of my walks after I had drank some apple juice. I have had alot more pain then I had expected and have taken alot more pain medication then I would have liked but it is getting better day by day and I still force myself to get out and walk. I have pain after eating especially if I take in too much too fast and I don't really notice until I stand up so maybe it is positional. I'm still learning how much to drink and what to drink, obviously apple juice isn't something I will be drinking anymore.
  11. I had a suprise hernia repair during my surgery yesterday, it don't think it has changed much in my recovery other than a little extra pain with inspiration.
  12. I had surgery yesterday and I got a ride home and stayed at home by myself. I didn't need anyone to help me and was glad to be home in my bed and not at the hospital.
