  1. My papers were submitted to my insurance co. on May 14th and I still have no word. I have called them myself & all they keep telling me is that it has not been authorized, its being reviewed. How long can they review it??? whats to review, all the papers are there.......I am going out of my mind....I am feeling that this IS NOT A GOOD THING...I will be devestated if they deny me..... Has anyone else had to wait this long???? My insurance is Hudson Health Plan....anyone else have it?????? Thanks for listening... Waiting NOT so patiently anymore..........ARGHH

  7. My PCP has referred me to this group of doctors. They seem very nice over the phone. I have attended the seminar. This week I go for my psych eval and support group. Next week I have my appointment with Dory Ferraro. I hope all goes well and that I am almost at the end of the preop and can be post op very very soon. I am so worried about the insurance approval.... Ill keep you posted.
  8. Hello All, I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between the Lap & Realize bands??? And is there a prefernce out there or do doctors use one more than the other? My doctor uses both and says the choice is mine...
  9. I am wondering about others experiences with the cardioligist & stress tests. I had a treadmill stress test & was told before I left the office that everything was okay & that I was cleared for surgery from the cardiologist. Now a week later I get a call from the "appoinment maker" that I need to schedule a nuclear stress test b/c my first one was negative & had results of abnormailities (murmur & cardiac dysthrytmia & I cant remember what else, at that point I was kinda numb). Why in the world would the test look good then & now its not. WHat if i CANT complete the nuclear stress test, being that it is so much more strenuous. Is this a sign that my surgery is not going to happen.... Any help, opinions, experiences, will be greatly appreciated. Now I'm really worried.
  10. Weeellllll I'm home & its OVER:smile::smile: It was not as bas as I was anticipating.....It was the treadmill test and it was actuallly a lot shorter than I expected..I was only on the treadmill approx. 15 minutes...I guess my heart rate reached my goal pretty quickly....They examined my heart (with the echo) while it was still pumping really fast and compared it will the echo from las week & said it looked good. Okay so I got my clearance from the cardiologist:biggrin::tongue:...now on to the next step, next week is the seminar, then I have to schedule my psych. appointment. I actually feel like I'm on the path.........step by step I will get there:rolleyes2:
  11. Hello all, I am soooooooooooo nervous, I go for my stress test in 3 hours.....I am so outta shape how do they expect me to be able to handle it???? I get tired & out of breath walking up my steps in my home..never mind a stress test on the treadmill with the speed & incline increasing:w00t: If I was in shape I wouldn't need the surgery... I hope to make it home in one piece and not end up on the floor.......................
  12. Hello, Has anyone used Dr. Davis & Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY???? I was gonna go to the Westchester Med. Center, but my PCP deals with Dr. Davis & Lawrence Hospital. I hope I will get some opinions on him here.
  13. Congrats on the banding...How are you feeling? I have read that the first days are the worst and horrible, hope your doing well and I hope to join you real soon and be banded before the summers out. Keep in touch, I'd like to follow your progress. TTYS
  14. Hi everyone, I live in upper Westchester. I am hoping to be banded very soon, most likely at Westchester County Medical Center...I thought they were so good, but I'm having doubts reading haw many of you have used mostly the same 3 doctors or practices. I havent read about not 1 person using the WMC in Valhalla.?.? I see my PCP on Tuesday so hopefully I will get good results and get my referral so I can begin this road..
  15. Hello Everyone, HAs anyone had their surgery done at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla? or any experience with the doctors there? Any input would be helpful.
  16. Hello, I am not yet banded, but hope to be VERY soon. I am trying to get a referral from my new PCP. I have gained weight over the past few years & cannot take it off no way no how...I have very high triglyerides, lately I get winded easily, always have back pain, have constant heartburn & on & on..all the uncomfortables (& unhealthies) of being overweight. I do have a hiatal hernia and am worried this could get in the way of me being approved or some doctors feel the old fashioned diet & exercise is the answer, but I have tried it all with no lasting success. I hope to meet lots of people and hear experiences that you have been thru and be able to come hear with questions and concerns. TTYs
