  1. Hi, I'm a 35-year-old mom and teacher from Northern Illinois. I was banded on 3-23 in Harvard, IL, and will be doing follow-up appointments with Dr. McClellan at Mercy in Harvard. I have been married for 12 years, and have 6-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, who are in kindergarten this year. I currently weigh 238 lb.s, and, although I haven't set my goal weight yet, I'd like to lose at least 75 pounds. I have my first fill appointment next Thursday afternoon, and I'm a little nervous. I would love a mentor/buddy that I could talk to and ask some of the odd questions that pop into my head. Thanks! Kelley
  2. Ok, just got banded on the 23rd, but I'd love to be part of the challenge as well. I'd love to lose 10 pounds by May 5th.
  3. Sylver - My Dr. recommended "Vitaband" vitamins. I ordered them online from "Bariatric Advantage." I am currently taking the Watermelon flavored ones, but be forewarned, they have a tree bark aftertaste. I'm also taking a calcium chew in addition to these vitamins. Hope this helps!
  4. I too was banded in March - the 23rd. I like all of the names suggested, just let me know which one everyone else likes, and I'll add it to my signature.
  5. Welcome also to you. I just was banded last week, and I thought I had a lot of pre-op. stuff to do. I dont' think anything that I had to do was nearly as bad as that blood gas test sounds. Good luck to you!
  6. Hi everyone. I am one week post-op. My band was placed last Monday, but this is the first chance I've had to look into any kind of on-line communication about lap-band. I look forward to meeting many new great and interesting people!
