The fat girl at the party.
Thanks for the responses guys! And MicheleClaire I'm sorry but any guy introducing you as his cousin has issues of his own and you don't need a part of that! Its been a few months since I first posted I think I was 220 when I did (judging from my excitement of losing 20 pounds haha) and it was in May, BUT in January now I am 159 (!!!!) just 4 pounds away from being a healthy BMI! Things are going so much better for me, and seriously now my girlfriends have to help me out because I assume when guys take my number or are talking to me more than a usual amount its to be friends like I am used to. How are all of you doing? Lets hear these updates! and Newer lapbanders truust me it will get there, I love this thing!

Need someone to giggle with
ha! that's hilarious. Well done. You know you could always say you had a hernia, the scars actually look about the same. That was my plan haha, and I don't want to tell annyy guy I'm with so I am relying on it.

Surgery March 17, 2009, 247 Surgery day, 263 at my biggest in February, Currently 179 :)

did you question yourself...
Dude..it is soo worth it. I just came across some pictures of me back in February (my surgery was in March) and I was grossed out. I had the same fear but trust me...soooooo worth it. I exercised like 5 times a week in the Summer but not as much now that school started  You will lose whether or not you exercise it just helps things like skin sagging and the speediness of your weight loss. Plus after a while it just feels good, I haven't gone to the gym in like a month and I sincerely feel depleted like something is missing, haha need to get on track and go back!

Unsupporitve Friends?
Dude your friends sound ridiculous. God made you that way? Was she being serious? Wanting a healthier lifestyle doesn't sound dumb to me... Some of my friends reacted weird too at the beginning, and then I lost 30 pounds..then 40..then 50.. The boys starting looking at me more, I was able to buy better clothes and although sometimes it feels like it's forced they acknowledge the fact that I look awesome. It's sad but statistically a lot of people who have lost a large amount of weight don't keep the same friends and people around them because a lot of people can't handle that change. Don't worry about it if they can't handle it their not worth it!

Drinking after surgery
I am also a fellow college student and enjoy drinking as well  I've been banded since March 2009 (have lost 52 pounds woot woot!) And I have had noo trouble with alcohol. It might get you buzzed faster but that's about it. Beer is a bit harder to drink but honestly I haven't had much trouble with it either and I enjoy beer pong quite a bit. Probably the biggest draw back is the empty calories, but just excercise and watch what you eat and you will be fine. Also you can opt for low cal drinks like vodka, if you can't take it straight have it with a zero calorie rockstar, that way you won't feel as guilty I drink about every weekend and haven't really had problems, listen to your body, don't overdrink, and have fun! You will be losing weight make the best of it!

Can everyone PLEASE post
Ah I love the band! My surgery was March 17th and I have lost 47 pounds so far I started at 247 and am down to 200. Its crazy cause just in february I was 260. It was slow going but you really do need your adjustments closer to each other, it took me about 7 adjustments to hit the "sweet spot". Seriously though once your their the pounds melt off and you don't even notice, Exercise too it really does make a difference. Good luck and good job everybody!

The fat girl at the party.
Thanks for replying guys! I guess it's something I just kind of have to ignore until I'm something to be reckoned with ha ha:wink2:. I am actually pretty confident and except for my weight I think I am pretty damn awesome so maybe I'm still too high up there in weight to get a reaction. I definitely agree that shallow guys aren't really worth my time but I think I just want some of that attention and ego boost. So maybe I'm shallow too? This is terrible but I cannot wait for the moment that my friend and I come into a party and I am the one flirted with and she's my wing man...

The fat girl at the party.
So I am sure this has been brought up a lot, but I am so sick of being the fat girl at the party... I kind of thought this kid was cute, and of course he hits on my best friend..like always. I hate it because I don't know if it's because I am fat or because I am fat and respect myself. Its like these guys expect you to always want sex from them just because you are fat. And if you don't your just someone fun and chill to talk to and nothing more. Does that happen to anyone? And for all of you successful lap banders, did you have a complete turn around regarding that kind of stuff? I know I am ranting but I am just kind of sick of being the cool one and nothing else and I don't really know where else to rant... Let me know how you guys feel about that stuff! (I got my band March 17 and have lost 20 pounds so far...woohoo!)

Newbie, banded St. Patty's day 09! Is my weight loss normal?
Thanks guys, I thought I was just weird. I think I'm just extremely impatient about it ha ha. But you're right I gotta keep reminding myself this is the healthiest way.

Newbie, banded St. Patty's day 09! Is my weight loss normal?
It's officially been two weeks since I was banded and I was wondering if what I'm losing is normal. I've read your first month you lose the most but I've only gone down 9 pounds since the day of the surgery, I feel stuck . Anyone have that slow weight loss the first month? Thanks!

March 17th Bandsters???
I was banded on St. Patty's day too! Can I ask how your weight loss is coming? It's been 2 weeks now and I've only lost 9 pounds since the actual day of the surgery, is that normal?
