  1. I like the term putz too, it may find a place in my vocab. Thanks again. His comments don't bother me. They say much more about him then me or the faith of anyone here.
  2. I haven't seen insults, mocking or such. But thanks for the insults. Yeah, it's the athiests causing problems between Christians on this thread...
  3. I do. I don't stand up for those who claim to share it when they are attacked for reasons I agree with. It's clear we disagree on what an "attack" is and what the target is.
  4. You dare to say Shame on me?! The athiests here have done no such thing. I reacted to you and only you.
  5. I have seen comments I think are indeed disrespectful to Christianity. But I've also seen comment disrespectful to other belief systems. So, I think those who have the beliefs being "attacked" are the ones who will speak up. It's not OK to them, right? So, when Christian beliefs are "mocked", the Christians are going to speak out, correct? When other beliefs are "mocked", those people will speak out. IOW, "acceptable" varies by what you believe, from what I've seen here.
  6. Are you presuming to know what is in the heart of another? What about us Christians who have a huge problem with how you say what you do? Are we also lying through our teeth, and actually are against your message? And who is telling you that you can't say what you want? I haven't seen anyone in a blind rage. You seem to have gotten madder then anyone else. Sigh. No one is trying to drive anyone away. This is a board first and formost about Lapband surgery. Up until you came along, personal faith wasn't much of an issue at all. Came up now and then, but nothing like this.
  7. Why should they? You don't listen. Oh, and you just posted it. Most probably haven't read it.
  8. OK, that made me shudder!!!!
  9. Wow. Just wow.
  10. I believe this is a key. The band is a tool. As such, it needs to be turned on/plugged in to work. That means filling it correctly. It sounds to me like this doctor doesn't do so. If someone isn't cheating, and isn't losing weight, what the heck does he expect them to do?! Ok, rant over. What I do like about the band is that I feel I have a HUGE say in how sucessful I am.
  11. This isn't the first time you posted that something isn't worthy of a reply, yet you obviously think it is. Am I nitpicking? Not really. Because I think it shows something about you. You want the last word. You want to get a dig in, but appear to be above it all. My opinion only of course.
  12. My MIL is Norwegian. Lutefisk anyone... :faint:
  13. How in the world did you get that? I took it to mean that starting a seperate thread might get more responses.
  14. OK, now I'm totally with BJean on her opinion of you. Sorry about the skillet you'll get for that... :biggrin1:
  15. I'm a little curious as to why this matters to you so much? I also think that how you are asking the question doesn't really encourage response, things like "willing to admit it" for example.
  16. I really wonder about myself then, because this made me LOL!!:heh:
  17. I don't think anyone is excusing the lifeguard at all. But you did ask for comments and thoughts. Not agreement. I thought the same thing when I read your post, that asking the question kind of opened the door. I'd bet we have all had very similar moments, in fact there was a thread here about the worst thing anyone said about our size, and there are lots of stories. So yes, most of us understand how you felt, we've been there.

Thanks for the responses! Bitteroldhag - my wonderfully niave husband is looking forward to me getting to menopause. He thinks that will be easier then monthly periods...
  19. Basically, yes i do.
  20. LOL - and my first thought on reading that was "Cool - I wonder if they can track us by a serial number on the band?" :faint: :heh:
  21. What I meant was I thought he was the only Christian who said he didn't think it was literial?
  22. I've never said one way or another. TOM really is the only one I remember saying he didn't think it was. I haven't talked much about beliefs and faith at all. Other then to state I'm a Christian. I've been talking much more about how the message is delivered.
  23. LOL-I want the Seahawks!!! :faint: :faint:
  24. Honestly, I don't believe Ron is getting the reaction he is for his beliefs. For how he shares them maybe, but not for what they are.
