  1. Hi i am Karla I am not sure this is the correct form I had a bypass a looooong time ago when i was a teenager. Fast forward to now my surgon has recomend i get a band over bypass or the rose procudre (tighting the pouch). The probelm is that he has stopped doing all surgery and he is just doing followup for a few months. His office is great about helping me find a new dr (closer to home moved cross country). My surgey got me down by more than 150lbs but he thinks i would be well served by loosing more. I was over 500lbs He tried to explain what i should expect but after a very long flight that was delayed, rental car issues ect and the idea of a new dr i am super confused. Can anyone expain to me your experince with the procudure?
  2. have narrowed down to 2 i like. have more questions for them, i think by mid may i will pick

  3. Please help me I need a Dr in the La area. I hope to get the lap band around thanks given. I can’t have it before due to the work I do. I had a Dr picked out about 2 years ago but before I could have the surgery my job changed insurance to a crappy HMO and he was not in the group. The approved doc is where I work but not where I want to get it done. My work is very seasonal so I am only at work during the warm months bout <7 mo a year. I don’t want to get it where I have no family. So I have decided to pay cash. I have been to three different places that do the surgery. One was a place that is outpatient only they do early then you are home the same night. Not interested I have bad history with anesthesia. The second group I went to is 3 Drs they do 75-100 a month, again not for me. The last one was not interested at first until the relized that I was a cash person. Then they were were tryn to sell it to me. They did not address my lifestyle issues, or ask about my history. And I had to pay 350 for a consult for them to try and sell me and would not answer many questions untill I paid $$$$$$ for test. Please help me

    AA'r looking into Band....

I know for myself that i NEED OA before i get my band. I think it may be something to look in to. I am not much of a drinker. Food is my drug of choice i think that i need to get my head issues done before i get the band. Like i said i am not a big drinker maybe have 7 or 8 drinks a year i do abuse food the way that others abuse drugs or booze. I think for me its a way to cope with things in my past that i had no cotrol over and a lot of anger that i still have. At this point i think that i would eat around the band. I know someone who got the band and has not lost much weight after a year because this person ignores the rules starbucks frap things, ice cream and milk shakes just take longer to consume.

    BS or Aetna So Cal

I am self employed i work with 2 other people. We are in the process of getting a group policy we are a bit overwhelmed. We all want BS of so cal but are not sure which ones are better. We asked the broker and he gave me 4 books that are over 2" thick each on whats covered and not. I dont have the time to read all that. Anyone have BS or Aetna in socal? We would prefer HMO because of cost but i know some HMO do not cover lapband but some do. Any info would help. We need to have this b4 May 31. Its when our cobra runs out from our old company that downsizes us all. Thank you all Kar PS if you know a GOOD broker in LA area send me that tooo

New Surgical Proceedure - TOGA Proceedure - WOW

Its cool. I had bypass like 14yrs ago i was planning on doing the Rose or StomaphyX but new Dr took over the pratice and he want a redo bypass or band over bypass due to the type bypass i had that they no longer do. I know 3 people who have had the natural orifice gastric surgery. They all said it was much MUCH better than the bypass or anyother type they have had. One of the ladies in my support group said that she did not use the drugs for pain. Everyone that i know who have had it done LOVES it!!!
