  1. We had a blizzard last week and it's going to be 72 degrees today.
  2. Hey Aussie, I'm getting my first fill on the 21st too. Can't wait. I too can eat anything I want, but am sticking to high protein and only getting carbs from fruits and veggies...and the occasional cookie:blush:
  3. My god is considering forgiving you, Patty, for your sins against your fellow man and against him. I'm praying that he does forgive you. But he's not so sure right now.
  4. There you are! Hi everyone. I'm one of you guys...March 19.
  5. Isn't that really the definition of a prophet? I think it was more of a coincidence. I'm sure many of us women have been mistaken for being pregnant when we are actually just overweight. That is exactly what I'm saying. Not that god hates people, but I believe you are misrepresenting god by saying people will be damned for doing something that they believe is in the best interest of themselves, their families, or their communities. I thank god that the medicine and technology was available to allow me an abortion when having my tubes tied didn't do the trick.
  6. My surgery was at 1pm and I was comfy at home by 4:30pm.
  7. Hey Ky! I was just wondering why you had to be re-banded. It looks like you were doing great with the band the first time. Something go wrong?
  8. My doctor is one of those that doesn't require clear liquids past day two and mushies as soon as you can handle them after full liquids. I don't think he's setting me up, because he does say focus on protein first and don't eat crap. I think the differences in post op diets comes from what the doctor has seen work. They probably make dietary adjustments based on how their patients are progressing, historically.
  9. First Patty, I think it's swell that your son is a prophet (with regard to your pregnancy). That must come in handy. Second, I believe there is a higher power. Don't know who or what exactly, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hate anyone...not even women who get abortions, gay people, or democrats. Third, just wondering...if man is made in god's image, is he pissed off that you're messing with it by getting banded?
  10. I love my Zoloft. The only drawback I've seen is that it makes me feel so normal, that after awhile I don't think I need it. After about a week of not taking it, I notice that I'm hyper-emotional, angry, and have road rage. I really need to remember this when I feel like I don't need it. Zoloft is my friend.
  11. OK, count me in for Memorial Day. Since I'm a newbie, I am just gonna guess at a goal. I'll say 15 pounds.
  12. Guys, I wouldn't freak out about not losing weight yet. Unless your doctor put a fill in, the only restriction you've had is from the swelling. I've been told to be patient, restriction, weight loss, and no hunger are coming. At this point, I'm just trying not to put any of the lost weight back on before I get at least one fill. We'll all be ok. I want the weight gone NOW, just like you, but we have to suck it up and wait.
  13. NOOOOOO! BJean, you and Rodriguezequal are my heroes. You are the voices of reason on here. Whenever I want to say something, you two say it soooo much better than I would.
  14. I am a sign language interpreter in a large high school. Love, love, love my job! I get to go to high school again, but not have any homework.
  15. Funny...I went to my one week follow-up and my surgeon said, "You'll now start lap band hell. You have the band, but none of the benefits of it yet." Can't wait for my first fill, but at least my doctor isn't strict on the food choices. He just wants me to eat lots of protein.
  16. I'd like to, but I haven't had my first fill yet, so I don't know what kind of goal to set. I'm just hoping not to gain any weight before my fill. Any goal suggestions?
  17. Octomom is a total, selfish nutjob. That being said, I voted for Obama because while the government will always take our money, I'd rather see it being used in this country than see it used to destroy then rebuild foreign countries. Sorry for the politics...back to the thread...She is CRAZY.
  18. Popcorn is the primary reason I go to the movies. I'm hoping I will be one of the people who can eat it.
  19. I'm in Colorado. Paid $9950 on my airline miles card (may as well get some miles), immediately transferred the balance to a 0% interest card, and will transfer what I don't manage to pay off before 0% expires in eighteen months, to a new 0% card. The $9950 includes fills for three months, with any additional fills costing only $15 each. It may be worth the travel cost to come to Colorado. Not as cheap as Mexico, but not a foreign country either.
  20. Oh dear, perhaps I should have given my surgeon an anatomy quiz beforehand...he told me it was my liver when I complained of the same pain. Well, whatever it was, it went away. Sorry for the misdiagnosis. Hopefully my band is on my stomach and not my kidney:unsure:
  21. I don't know enough about preparing kosher, so if this is a moronic suggestion, sorry. But, I would think your money would be better spent by hiring a cleaning service to totally scrub your place. That way, you could relax and do all the cooking where you are most comfortable (when it's clean). A clean place is so much easier to keep clean, and much less stressful. Initially, the cleaning service will probably charge you a bundle, if it's as bad as you imply, but think about how free you'll feel when it's clean...compared to spending the money and time to go elsewhere to prepare food, only to come back to a depressingly messy home.
  22. That's from when they shoved your liver to the side. It'll go away very soon.
  23. When I went to my first informational session, the doctor was very eager an interested in my situation...until he discovered that my insurance doesn't cover weight loss surgery. I became very discouraged until I did some research on self-pay options. I found a different doctor, local, that made it very easy and somewhat affordable...$9950. I am telling you this just in case you find that your insurance won't pay. Don't give up. There are ways to do it.
