ATTN scale watchers in Bandster Hell!!
I notice when I drink plenty of water, my loss is a bit better. It is funny how all Dr's are so different. I was eating about 1/2 cup per meal and was told that I actually wasn't eating enough! I am allowed up to 1 cup per meal. Preferably lean protein of course. I go for my first fill on Monday where I will get 4cc's. Hang in there, it will get better. Take it one day at a time! Cheryl

5 days post op and depressed...
Oh boy, you sound just like I did! I was so depressed I wanted to find a Dr. to cut the damn band out! I know it is so hard at first, but believe me from someone who has been there (and maybe felt worse) it will get easier. I thought I wouldn't make it another day, but I hung in there and now I feel pretty good. I still have off days, but when I step on the scale I realize how worth it this will all be. Hang in there and feel free to send me a message anytime if you have any questions. Cheryl

Anyone else banded with no fill?
Me too!! I was banded 6/16 with no fill either!! I am head hungry all the time!! However when my belly growls I try and make sure to eat protein. I get my fill 7/26 and the nurse said the Doc puts 4cc's in @ the first fill:scared2: A little nervous to go from nothing to 4, but I am sure it will be worth it when the pounds come off!!

Banded 6/19/09- have questions and looking for buddies
I was banded on 6/16 and I know what you mean by finishing your food and feeling a bit hungry. For me, I believe a lot of it was head hunger though. It still amazes me that small amount i can eat and get full. I do not get my fill for a while either. But like a bunch of the others said, in the beginning our stomachs are swollen and now that they are healing, the band is just sitting there, not really squeezing it too much. Once we have the fill, I think we will start to get that satisfied feeling. (at least i hope! LOL) Take care!! Cheryl:biggrin:

Stomach pain
Oh boy, I had those stomach pains & plenty of loud noises!! The pain lasted the first week. Most of it for me was hunger pains, but your body will adjust. The gurgling slowed down after the first week too, but every now & then it starts up again!! (only noise, not the pain) Hang in there, this too shall pass!! Congrats on becoming a "bandster"

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Just Banded 6/16/09-Having a rough time!
Hello! My name is Cheryl & i am a 32 year old mom of a 13 year old & a 1 year old!! (both girls) I work part time, although I don't go back to work until Monday. Ok, so I was banded June 16th & the first few days were great! I had minimal pain and was up and walking shortly after recovery. Well after that, it all went downhill. I have asked God what i have done to myself. I hate to eat because it reminds me of everything I cannot have. I am depressed and cannot believe I did this to myself! (I have been to counseling, just on case anyone was going to suggest) I have no one really close by who knows what I am going through. I know from what I read that it will get better, but at this point I wish I had the money & a surgeon to get this thing out!!!!!!!!!!! Pathetic I know. Today is the start of mushies, although I tried some yesterday & they went fine. Hoping to talk with someone who went through this & is now happy.

Seriously considering lap band--lots of questions...
Yep, pretty much the same story here too!! I'm not going to lie, I am not out that far, but it has been rough mentally. I am learning to use my energy to do other things, instead of wondering what to eat next. I have lost a pretty good amount of weight for that short amount of time and am extremely happy for that!! It will take a lot of work on your end, but I am sure it will be well worth it in the end. I would take no health issues, & a longer life span over a pizza & fries any day!! LOL Seriously though, if you are ready to work hard to get healthy, it is an excellent choice!!

Anxiety
If it is any consolation, I am asking myself all those questions & more! I was banded 6/16 and 2 days late I was sitting on my bed & crying saying what have I done to myself God? It is unfortunately more common than you think. This was a huge change to our body & mind. I spoke with a friend of mine who got the bypass about 1 year ago and she said she cried for the first 4 months! She did however promise me that it will get better/easier. She said as you start to see your weight go down and you start to feel better physically, your mind will also heal. Great job on getting professional help too!! Keep in touch. Feel free to send me messages and we can pull through this together!! <3 Cheryl:wub:
