  1. Hello everyone:redface: my name is Deanna and I live in Texas. I have been married for 23 years to my best friend. We have 4 beautiful children, 19, 16, 15 and 13. Having 3 kiddos back to back like I did, did a number on my body. When I was young I was never heavy, the weight has crept up on me! My heaviest was 218, in August of 2007. I am down to 187, some of the weight loss was due to having lipo and a tummy tuck for my baby belly. I am 5' 1" and my bmi is 35.3. I see my surgeon (Dr. Castro) on Friday to schedule my surgery date, whoo hoo!! I know that I dont have as much weight to loose as some, but I have a family history of obeisty and heart problems. My mother had her first heart attack at 58. I want to do this for so many reasons. I am self pay, but it will be so worth it! I want to be around for those grandbabies I know I will have one day:w00t: I hope for the best for all the bunnies on here! Lets do this! Dee
  2. Jessica, i am right there with you, but the one difference is that I am 42 years old. Be thankful that you have youth on your side! My biggest concern is my thighs. Even when I was "thin" I had thunder thighs, lol. Anyway, I have a good feeling that you will do great, just make sure you drink your Water. This helps. I am not sure of my exact date yet, but I see my surgeon on Friday!! I am sooo stoked. Hopefully we will nail down a date. My biggest reward will be not to be the biggest person at a party or dinner. I have always felt ashamed in these situations, like I am an embarrassment to my husband. There are alot of social functions that we attend, I want to be his "trophey wife"! I want to feel as sexy on the outside as I do on the inside!! Well, keep us posted as to how you are doing, I want to be there for you! D:rolleyes2:
  3. WTG Suz! I am so happy for you! Where do you live and who is your doc? I bet you are so excited! Wonder why they have you eating like that a month out? All these docs are so different, kinda gets confusing! Anyway, congratulations and i pray all goes well for you! D:redface:
  4. I havent been banded yet, (April) but I do know that my surgeon will charge $150.00 for fluro after my first 6 months. Without fluro it is 100.00. Hope this helps! D
  5. Hello fellow Texans, I had my consult today with TLC Edge, met Cynthia. Love her! I think I have decided to go with Dr. Castro. I am very thankful to all of you that have posted about your experience with TLC. I hope that I have as much success as all of you have :w00t: Deanna
  6. Hi Sara, i am new as well. I hope you find this site as helpful as I already have. I hope I can answer a part of your question with a question, have you googled lapband doctors in your area? Most have seminars you can go to. The doc i chose calls the insurance company themselves. Unfortunately mine will not be covered  but, I am having it done anyway! My personal consult was free, at that time while I was in my consult, they contacted my insurance company. I hope this helps you! D
  7. Hello all! I am new to this board, but I have already found it a great help and a comfort. I am hoping to schedule my surgery for March 23. My doctor is Dr. Beinivedes, in Richardson Texas, if there are any others that have been banded by him, I would love to know about your experience. I am not scared just anxious to get it done and over. I want to begin this journey! I have thought about having this done for years, but never thought it would be possible. Any suggestions would be very welcome!
