  1. I didn't sleep much the night before I got my band (worried that I would fail and have to have the band removed), but on the day of surgery, February 2, 2008, I was at peace with myself. I am really pleased with the results. Including my pre-surgery diet, I have lost 45 lbs, but the best news is that I no longer taking any medicines. I was taking 125 units of insulin per day; I have not taken any in over two weeks and my BG reading run between 95 and 110. I really feel great.
