  1. "I am by far skinny. I still weigh 228lbs. My problem is that my husband weighs 350lbs and will not do anything about it. When we got together we were both smaller. He weighed about 240. He has no control of food what so ever. He has eaten 3lbs of fudge this week and a whole pie. (we went to amish country last saturday) It makes me angry. Even before i had the surgery I had some control. I am so scared that I am going to wake up one morning and not find him attractive. He is the love of my life and my best friend. I don't want this to hurt my marriage but I also want to stay physically attracted to him. I have tried to get him to walk in the evenings with me and I cook mostly healthy meals." The message above is one I posted a few weeks ago. I am hoping that my change will make him want to change.
  2. I also carry my Lapband Card with my surgeons info on it. Along with my Red Cross card that states my blood type.
  3. I also know 2 people who had bypass done. One of them has gained a good bit of weight back. They also have to take supplements the rest of their lives. I think the risk of streching your stomach back after bypass is greater than with lapband. I dont regret one minute of having my band. I too dont understand why someone would choose bypass over lapband.
  4. I am having the same issue. I stuck between 227-229. I feel like I am losing but the scales are not showing. I am getting frustrated with this. I am going on vacation in 2 weeks and hope that I see a difference on the scale!
  5. We have actually discussed him having the lap band, but he wont take the time to go to the dr. He makes an attempt to eat deceit sometimes, the biggest problem he has is eating in the middle of the night. He does go get his physicals every year and his family doc tells him all the time that he needs to loose weight. I tell him that when we start a family i would like for both of us to be healthy. His best friend died at 28 from a heart attack (very overweight). I dont want to loose him for something that we can prevent. Thanks for the advice!
  6. Ok, I know this sounds wrong but I need some advice..... I am by far skinny. I have tried to get him to walk in the evenings with me and I cook mostly healthy meals. HELP!!
  7. My best friend was not very supportive at the beginning. She thought I should just be able to eat small amounts on my own and loose the weight. She is thin and controls her weight. She is finally coming around, and acutally went with me today to get my 2nd fill. Good luck.
  8. I am going today for my second fill. I have 4cc in my band. I have been so hungry the past two days. My stomach is actually growling. I am hoping this fill helps with the restriction. I have been stuck between 226-229 for the past month. I am going on vaction May 31st and would love to be in a size 14. Right now I am wearing a 16 in most of my clothes. I was a 20-22 at surgery. HOPE THIS ONE DOES THE TRICK!!
  9. that is great!! I was leaving the tanning salon the other day and had a truck load of guys drive by and whistle at me. I rolled my eyes but was like "thanks" in my mind.
  10. Hi Rachel, I do have PCOS. I am 27 and I am so hoping that with the weight loss it will help with the unwanted hair. It is horrible. I joke now that I can grow a nicer beard than most men. I shave my face faithfully every morning. I also shave my chest every day. My whole body is really bad. Including my back. (even my butt) How embarrassing is that. My bf shaves my back for me. I am in the same boat and hope that it gets better. Right now I am taking birth control to see if it helps with the hair. Also my dr has me on spirinolactone, it is a Water pill but they say it has been shown to help with unwanted hair growth in women. Good luck! Hope this helps. Melissa
  11. i have a 2.5 inch incision port site and 4 poke holes. My port site was lumpy at first, but it was across stretch marks. Now I am two months out and they are smooth now.
  12. Congratulations!! I cant wait to hit onederland! Been about 10 yrs for me too!
  13. Ok, So today I get my first fill! I am kinda nervous. I am worried that it will hurt. Also worried that I still will not have any restriction. I had surgery on 2/20/09, and have lost around 20lbs. So wish me luck!
