  1. Water is one of the things that I struggle with at times. But I'm gonna try to bwe better this weekend. I'm down 61 lbs. from pre-op and loving my new body (well, will love it much more after a tummy tuck, breast-lift and arm lift!).
  2. I was banded on 4/13/09. Had my first fill at 5 weeks post-op (3.4 cc). Had a second fill in September (1 cc). I have a 10 cc balloon and feel that this is a good amount of restriction for me.

Have you tried taking Gas-x. Most likely the problem is from gas retained after the surgery. I was banded 4/13/09. I didn't really believe the Gas-x would help, but it really did. Good luck with everything.
  4. I had my band done on 4/13/09 by Dr. Luttrell in Hope. Everything has gone really well. I am very impressed with Dr Luttrell, his staff and with the staff in Hope. I don't regret my decession for a moment. There has never been ANY wait to reach Dr Luttrell or Erin.
  5. I haven't had a fill yet, I don't think that my surgeon does them until 5 wks post op. I haven't been able to help myself, I've been weighing each morning. Maybe the hot flashes are because of some hormone fluctuation post-op. I'm getting fairly close, but I'm not old enough for those yet! Have a Good Evening and keep in touch.
  6. Hey Jazzy4Health, My band was on 4/13/09, so I'm just 2 days ahead of you. I have my first follow up next week also. Have you weighed yourself yet? I've felt fairly good, but have been having hot flashes. Hope you continue to do well.
  7. Hi Melody Mary, Congratulations on the weight loss! I'd be thrilled if I did that great. I', having my surgery in Hope. I went to 3 different seminars and did a lot of research and was really impressed with Dr. Lutrell, plus I know someone at work who went to Dr Lutrell and was very happy with him and his staff. I'll just be so relieved when it's done, I can worry any mole hill into a mountain, and am a real scardy-cat when it comes to surgery.
  8. Hi other Bandsters! I am scheduled for my band with Dr Lutrell on Monday April 13. The pre-diet hasn't been too bad... but the past few days I've wanted food really bad. I've been really good about sticking to the diet, but have only lost about 4.5 lbs, which is really frustrating. Now that it gets closer to the B-day I'm getting more nervous (I'm a real bad chicken):glare:! I'll be so glad when it's over.
  9. Thanks Suzanne, I was your daughter's age when I first started out as a nurse. How quickly after your band did you start to lose weight? Have you had any problems?
  10. Thanks kiz, One of my close friends also wants to get banded, so she's going to the seminar with me tomorrow. Have you had any complications or problems since you got banded?
  11. Hi all, I'm a 43 year old NICU nurse from Arkansas. I didn't really have serious weight problems until I was pregnant with my oldest son. I was never able to get the weight off, and over the years have added even more. No diet has worked for me, with the exception of phen-fen. I won't look in mirrors because I hate the way I look. I've wasted too much time being miserable. I've started to seriously look into getting the lap band. I went to a seminar last night in Texarkana and am going to another tomorrow in Little Rock. Hopefully I'll be on my way to a new life soon.
