I am Lisa and I also have been overweight all my life.(age 54). My surgery is scheduled for 4-22-09. Like you I have FED BCBS and after I had done all my schedule test and the papers were sent in, it was approved in less than a week. Their should be no waiting much there. Just stick with it.
  2. I am also scheduled to have my surgery the 22nd. The feelings you are having are the same ones I am having. I am 54 and have been overweight my whole life. Can' wait till I can buy regular size clothes:thumbup:
  3. Hope all goes well for you. The support groups are really interesting. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
  4. Where did you buy your Gold Standard Mix? My surgery is schduled for April 22 and I want to get prepared the best I can. This sounds like a good mix, with all that protien.
  5. I just got my approval date and am a little nervous, but I am keeping my eye on the day when I buy regular clothes, and feel good about myself.
  6. Has anyone had their surgery done and had a haitil hernia fixed at the same time? I didn't even know I had one. Does this make the surgrey different or longer to recover?
  7. :huh2:I haven't had my banding done but my mother is the one who keeps saying are you sure. She is the one who knows that I have been overweight all my life. Now I want to be healthy and be able to wear regular clothes. I am 53 years old and married and now I can finally do something for me and she questions me. I sure wish I hadn't told her, the only thing is she lives with me and my husband.
