What is a Pb? LOLOLOLOLOL Just had to do it because I do believe a couple of months ago I probably did ask it. Gotta love me

Would you help me please? My first fill was Aug. 8th and it was only 1.5 and I could drank down the Water in gulps. It's been one week since fill and I'm still losing weight but I don't have the restriction I read about. I've got another appt. for next week for another fill but I don't want to be tight and can't drink water, you know what I mean. I was wondering how much was your fill and did you feel restriction that day or did it take a few days. I've been reading maybe I need to give mine a couple of weeks. Thanks for your help.

He ask me how I was feeling, how much could I eat, was I following the bandster diet, weighed me, measured me and them the poking began. After 3 or 4 pokes and no port Dr. Curry took me to fluro and found it 2 inches over from my port scar and he said it was the low profile and harder to get to and he hit it first time under fluro. Then, the dietician went over stuff with me, then I paid the 300.00 and left for the LONG drive home. That was it.

First thing they do is weigh you of course and for once in my life I wasn't dreading it as bad as usual. It's been 5 weeks to the day since surgery and I had lost 26 pounds. I was sooooo thrilled. My fill last week was just 1.5 and I still have no restriction so I called and got an appt. for next week but now I;m wondering should I give the fill 2 weeks to see if it does anything. Either way I'm so proud. That's more weight than I have ever lost at anything before. :clap2:

I have heard of a couple of things on here, not sure if they'll help your problems are not but I'm sure someone on here will chime in. Someone suggested I buy aloe vera juice and I did and I think it's wonderful stuff, and I've heard of the papaya tablets. Maybe someone smarter than myself will post on here. I wish you all of the luck in the world and hope things start going your way.

I got my pretty purple one today in the mail from izik's Mom. Thank you so much for the swift and quick delievery. I think it is beautiful and I got 2 of them in case someone needs one.

We had a driver there for anywhere we went so didn't need a cab but we tipped Mario 10.00 each trip and gave him a 20.00 on the last trip to the airport because he had been so kind. He seemed very pleased so I guess that was fine.

I went there with dh and there was a girl there when Amy and I went for our surgeries and she went alone and she had no problems at all. They pick you up and drop you off and totally take care of you while your there. Another ideal, I know I wouldn't care to help and there are probably others whom are going there for our fills and I wouldn't care at all to schedule one when your going to be there at the guest house if your going to Dr. Sanchez, who has done over 6600 of these and I would be there to help if you would like. Just a suggestion, but you would do fine on your on as well. Just an ideal.

Yep, I can vouch for him, check out my fill pics and you'll see him in person doing my fills and he's very much alive. I really do like him. I got a fill one week ago, just not enough and am going back next week for more. He and his office staff are wonderful.

Oh, You guys are scaring me to death. I had my first fill one week ago and I knew when I left there by the way I could drink my cup of water that it was not enough. I'm losing about 1-2 pounds a week or little more but I called today for another fill next week which will be two weeks after the 1.5 fill. I just don't have the restriction. I eat one whole peice of thin crust pizza tonight (my sons 19th b-day) and I eat one chicken nugget for lunch and drank all day. I know it's not good decisions but I was on the go in the car for almost 10 hours today. I need the restriction I know but the pbing makes me t totally panic stricken. I sure dread the first one and I know it's coming. I do thank you all for the explanations because I do want to know what to expect. Pray for me I guess. LOL

I still eat bandster portions are less but I mean I don't have to chew it, I can gulp, I still am eating less than 1000 calories aday but it's been a week tomorrow and no difference whatsoever and I know what it feels like because I had great restriction after surgery. I lost 21 pounds in less than 3 weeks. I'm going to go on and schedule me another one for one more week out and if things change I can always cancel. Thanks everyone for your help. I have read I got less on my first fill than most. Even my surgeon requested me to get 2.0 cc's at first but I just got the 1.5 so that may have something to do with it.

Not here in the states, usually it's a 40 BMI or little less with co morbitities, illnesses, that qualify. I wasn't big enough either here so I went to Monterrey Mexico and had my done by the great Dr. Rodolfo Sanchez and it was only 8500.00 plus your flight.

I had my first fill a week ago, 1.5 in a 4 cc band and absolutely nothing. I am so disappointed. Then, the surgery costs you about 10,000.00 altogether and then 300.00 for a fill that you can't fill, it's aggravating. Plus, I live 10 hours round trip for fills. I go back next week for another, I sure hope Dr. Curry bumps this one up because I can gulp my drink, eat chicken, bread, toast, anything and am losing NO weight. blah

My doctor says make it light, you don't want to be to full before your fill, then for 24 hours liquids, then 24 hours mushies, then 24 hours soft foods and then your on your own.

No wonder I can't tell I got my first fill, 1.5 cc's. What size band do you have to have gotten that much fill. I've now got to go back in another week, (2weeks from fill) for more. I think I need a bunch more. I have the 9.75 cm band.

Congrats Cootie, I know you must be on cloud 9. Sometimes I wished I would have had some patience and let BC/BS do they're thing and pay for it instead of my not being able to wait and pay myself. I admire you. You will also be amazed at how fast the week or two goes by and then the day of surgery seems like it lasts for 15 min. It'll be over before you know it and you will be asking us about fills, I did. Good luck and congrats on everything going so smoothly. Period, Where has mine gone. LOL You know how you kind of start your period, if that makes since. Well, I was going to preop and I told dh I was starting and while I was in surgery to go down to the gift shop and get me some tampons, mind you we're in Monterrey, Mexico and don't speak a word of spanish. After recovery I said where are my tampons he said, I didn't see any so I said, "Honey, go get me some tampons, so he goes back to the gift shop and he said he ask the little Latino girl, uhhhh, my wife needs some uhhhhh Tampians, he said she pointed to the cokes. I laughed so hard. Well, I didn't get any tampians but needless to say it stopped dead in it's tracks and that was 5 weeks ago and still no period. I thought it was kinda cute.

Yes, I mean vitamin E oils. I had one of the best plastic surgeons in the world and you can ask Amy, she couldn't even tell I had been burned. They do awesome wonders. I mean after skin grafts and neck surgery, foot surgery and now my scars from this surgery already look fabulous. I use the oil, my surgeon, (burn) said it's the best, but you can buy it in lotion form, butter form and capsules and probably other ways too.

I got my first fill 5 days ago and I can't tell any difference what so ever. Dr. Curry gave me 1.5 instead of 2.0 (that's what i wanted the 2.0) because I live so far away and might need a slight unfill. I don't want to be miserable. But I haven't lost an ounce since this fill and haven't lost a pound in over a week and was loosing very well immediately after surgery. He said in 2 weeks I could get more. Do you guys think I need more, I know your not here with me but I can gulp my drinks I can eat bread, hotdogs anything and if you were me and in another week make that long drive 10 hours round trip how much would you ask for? Please help, I don't want to get miserable, I even wonder should I give this more time but I can't tell any difference at all. I rely on you guys for info, please someone answer for me. Sherri

I had my fill on Tuesday evening and it's Friday afternoon and until 2 hours ago in which I had my first nap I havne't batted an eye for sleep. None at night, no naps, nothing. I've took tylenol pm's, at 9 lastnight only to have to take simply sleep at 3:30 am this morning and still no sleep. I called Dr. Curry and they don't think it has anything to do with the band, I didn't think so either but I've NEVER had this before and Never until after my fill. Weird I know. Still NO caffiene, what am I going to do. I feel like crap and I do have a life I need to live. Now mind you, I only got 1.5 fill instead of 2 and he said I could come back in 2 weeks for more which I'll have to do because I have very little restriction but this sleep thing is unreal. I've felt fabulous since the feel other than each day the tiring from no sleep. Please, anyone, any help.

I got my first fill 2 days ago and wanted 2.0 for my first fill, but Dr. Curry kinda thought since I have a 4 1/2 hour drive each way he'd rather be safe than sorry and me not have to drive back the next day so I got 1.5. I can tell I have restriction probably not as much as the 2.0 but I can still eat and I can drink without any problems but my portions have been cut in half, I just don't have the interest in food I had. I hope this is a sign of some restriction. He said I could come back in 2 weeks for more but I am going to wait out the whole 2 weeks and see because I don't want to get miserable and today I felt like superwoman. I mowed the yard, weedeated, cut down a dead tree, cleaned house, just felt damn good for a change. Don't want to tempt fate.

Hell yes it's better and more of it. LOL Now I initiate it and he doesn't have to beg. LOL Enjoy the band and everything that goes along with it.
