  1. Has anyone got approved from tricare for the band being under 100lbs overweight? I am 86 lbs overweight, with family problems of heart, also bad back pain, I just went through a procedure friday to check me for gerd. My bmi is 41.6. I am just waiting on the final approved for the surgery from tricare. I know that one of there requirements are at least 100lbs overweight...Anyone got approved without being 100lbs overweight???
  2. Hello! So far I have not had to pay anything but I did have to pay $120.00 to see the nutritionist, she don't exept any insurances. But I can turn it into tricare or claim it on my taxes. I have tricare prime, and I have had no problems so far. I go April 24th, for a procedure to check me for gerd (acid reflex). I have already been to the seminar and consultation with the surgeon. Oh and I also had to pay $25.00 for the seminar. Good luck to you!
  3. Thanks! :scared2: Good Luck to you!
  4. hello, I have tricare prime and I have had no problem at all. They have paid 100% of everything. I would rather have tricare prime then tricare standard. We used to have tricare standard and we would have to pay a co-pay and part of all of our hospital bills. With prime we dont pay anything. But thanks anyways!
  5. Congrats to you too! How exciting!
  6. Ok! I went to my consultation today to see the lap band surgeon. It went great. He approved me for the lap band! Now as long as tricare prime approves me everything will be great. I have to go see if I have GERD (acid reflex) and go get my blood taken for different tests. I also did my chest x-ray today. So after thats all done then I will hopfully get a surgery date........:smile2:
  7. Wow! Congrats! I also have a civilian doctor. Was it hard to get approved through tricare? What is your bmi?
