Overall the experience was fine. I feel like the Dr. should have been on rollerskates or something for as rushed as he was.
Weight loss is going ok. Slower than I hoped, but good. I am 10 days out and really ready to eat some normal food. It is hard to keep having creamy Soups.
I would love to know of any good online support groups.
Hi there- it looks like you are doing great! I am in the Brighton area. I was just banded 02/27 at Harper also. I had Dr. Webber. I just started researching support groups in the area this evening. I will let you know if I find any.
How was your experience with Dr. Laker?
Wow you were banded on the 25th and already get to have soft foods? I am jealous. I was banded the 27th, and was told to 7 days Clear Liquids, 7 days creamy liquids then on day 15 I can start soft foods.
The hunger is hard to get used to. I am drinking A TON of crystal light and chicken broth all day long.
Good luck on your journey.
Well I am home, surgery was yesterday. Everything went fine. I ended up having a hernia repaired at the same time. They are making me give myself two shots a day for the next two weeks for a blood thinner. I thought that was strange. I haven't heard anyone else mention that before.
Other than being sore, I am doing okay. The hardest part will be trying not to do too much.
Thanks for the support and kind words. It really is helpful to hear success stories. I know I am doing the right thing, it just helps to be reminded sometimes!
Well Friday is the big day. I am insanely nervous. I am confident that everything will go well. I just wonder what in the world am I getting myself into? I know it is something that needs to be done for my health, but I am scared I will never be able to enjoy food again.
Hi all - I am new to the site. I just got my surgery date today - February 27th. I am NERVOUS and EXCITED at the same time. I am having my surgery done in Detroit at Great Lakes Weight Loss at Harper Hospital.
Any words of advice for a newbie?
