  1. Wow! Congrats! I'm in a similar position, started at 398 and I can't imagine being anything below 180. I'm stuck at 327. And have been since APRIL. I had a fill in June but I can't tell it's done anything. Discouraged is me. But your post has helped me put things into perspective because it's taken you 2 years to get that off so I don't feel quite so bad. Congrats again, and good luck getting to onederland!
  2. The more and more I think about it I think that's what it was. That the bite was just a bit too big and maybe I didn't chew as properly as I thought. Thanks for letting me know you have that too! Here's hoping I was just freaking out!
  3. Ok background on me! I had surgery July 20th, 2009. I've lost 58 so far. Yay me. Well I found out in November that I had a flipped port. My first fill in August was difficult but got it in fine once he found it in my fat hah. When I found out my port had flipped I went back to the doctors office (was at the hosp next door for fill) and they said "Do you not remember it hurting? Nothing?" And after much thought I said I vaguely recalled leaning over out of the computer chair about a month before (oct) and it hurt for a second but it was up under my breast so I thought "well my port's down by my belly button so that wasn't it." And they said "Nope, that was it." Had my port revision on New Years eve so as of an hour and 17 minutes ago it's been a week since. Now, all has been going well and had my port fixed (it was also leaky) and just a bit ago I was feeling hungry so I got up off the couch got something to nibble and sat back down. I took a bite, chewed and swallowed and went to take another bite when I had this SHARP pain right under my left breast (where my bra sits). Only the once and only for a half a second. So I'm really freaking out now (for an hour now) thinking that I've flipped my port again! He told me that it should NOT come undone again because he sutured it on the top and bottom with that mesh they use to fix hernias. I guess the put the mesh on sutured that, then attached my port to that? And now I'm well, freaking out. It's 8 hours until the clinic opens and I'm thinking will they really be able to tell from one pain if it flipped? Will I have to wait 6 weeks until fill time? Could it have been what I was eating? He put 3cc's in last week so maybe the moment that bite passed the band it hurt? I've never had that before so could that be it? So I beg of you (if you finished this NOVEL) more experienced bander am I flipped? Paranoid? or what? HELP!
  4. Hoping you're doing well! I had my port 'reattached' on new years eve only to find out once he got in that there was a leaky port! And he's moved to a new hospital and no port there! Luckily I was quite out by then so missed the mad rush to another hospital for one. Healing up well and came on to catch up and saw your similar story! I was banded on July 20 so I feel your pain. Literally. *gentle pats*
  5. I'm 48 away from 100lbs so just over halfway! Only one fill so far was due one in early Nov but my port had flipped (and is now completely loose) so I'm having that revised on New Years Eve. Here's hoping to another 48 soon!
  6. See this just shows how tired I was this morning when I was posting at 2am. This never crossed my mind! Thanks greytz and Mimi! I'm going to the doctor on Tuesday since I'm worried I might have an infection in two of my incisions so I'll do it then since I'll be in the city where I got it, and I'm going Camaro shopping. Fun fun! I have stitches poking out of 3 of the 5 incisions and 2 are kinda red looking and one that was all the way closed now is opened back up just a smidge so I'm worried. I'm probably being paranoid, but better safe than sorry.
  7. Yeah, she's my favorite cousin, and was so excited when I told her I was having the surgery. Her first words besides, that's awesome, was "OMG When you get skinny we MUST go to Macy's and shop shop shop!" Since I get kinda pissy now when I try to go clothes shopping! Then about 2 weeks after that she came up here with a box all wrapped up in metallic turquoise paper (my fav color in case you couldn't tell! hah) and it was the jeans. We're not a real big 'hugging' family but she told me that I'd be in them lookin' hot before long and gave me a great big hug. And over-emotional me with the liquid diet phase burst into tears. I really think you should do it, I see them every day hanging on the handle bars of my treadmill so it makes me go "oh hell, get on.." Also, really hope you get approved soon for surgery!! 4 weeks out I can honestly say, best thing I've ever done for myself! Have a good Saturday to you too!
  8. Honestly, no I don't think that's sad at all! I think it helps to have motivation! I've always been fat so all through high school and college (I'm 25) I missed out on the cute clothes I always wanted to wear but couldn't. So my cousin, who's 14, bought me a pair of jeans from American Eagle that are a size 18 as my 'inspiration' pants. I swear I love that kid SO much sometimes! It's tragic that they only go up to just above my knees now but one day (fairly) soon they'll be fitting!
  9. Hehe yeah I know shouldn't be weighing, but I only do it once a week. I'll probably just make up a number when my mom asks this week, but I wore some jeans today I haven't worn since surgery and they weren't painted on today! Woo! I'm going home the 1st of September anyway and I'll have Curves there so I'll just keep the weight-loss on the DL from the parents til then. And until I get a spare $50 for a replacement. And yes! Evil evil scales when they lie to you! At first when it said 359 I had a fleeting thought of, "Hey, it could happen.. Water weight and and.." But I knew it spoke LIES.
  10. Ok so, I haven't owned a scale in absolute AGES. Had my two week checkup on the 4th so I decided I needed one. Went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got a cool round glass digital scale that was $50. Got home and jumped on to see how close it was to the doctor's scale. Only .2 above theirs! I weighed using it for the weigh in last week and all was great still. Well, I'm going out of town next week so I thought I'd pop on this morning *checks clock* err, yesterday morning. Well, it told me I was 402.. then said ERR. Um, I went from 373 to 402 in 5 days? I think not. Got off, back on, and it said 359. Now it's stuck at 341 and will not budge higher. I even held my nephew who weighs at least 30 lbs and nothing, still 341. Is there anyway I can fix it? I took the battery out and put it back in. My parents bought it for me and like I said, it was $50 and now it's not working. I don't think we have the reciept anymore and they'll be PISSED. Ahhh! Ideas?
  11. OMGosh! That is seriously scary! I had surgery 3 days before you and all my incisions are nearly healed. I also have no pain from mine either so I guess I'm lucky there! I hope yours continues to get better! (((many hugs)))
  12. I just found out that I have a hematoma too. Well, I described my puffyness below my port site and how it was a slightly different color and my nurse said that's what it was. She said if it got bigger or started bothering me to come in and they'd drain it. She said most of the time the body will absorb it back in so I'm giving it until Wed then if it's still there I'll probably go in.
  13. I'm just at two and a half weeks out now and the swelling I had is mostly gone now. Though right around my port is still numb-ish. My doctor said on Tuesday that it was fairly common, but it weirds me out.
  14. Awesome! I'm at less than a week now, I'm the 20th! I'm super excited and a smidge nervous now. Doubt I'll sleep well Sunday night, in a hotel room too. Driving clear across AR to have it done, and don't fancy being up at 4am for a drive only to have it done, then drive 3 hours back the same day so we're going over on Sunday, finding the hospital, and relaxing before the big day! I've been on the diet since the 1st and haven't weighed in about a week and a half. I refuse. LOL I hope your poison ivy gets all cleared up and good luck!
  15. Juniper that's an interesting theory!! I've been on the liquid diet for nearly 2 weeks and a few things have been crazy with getting my pre-op done. I'm healthy and never go to the doctor, I guess this is a bad bad thing since I don't have a regular doctor everything is a PITA to get done! But anyway, last week twice at the drop of a hat I just burst into tears and couldn't seem to control it! I was thinking "What the hell? It's not even that time of the month!" Perhaps this is why! I just kinda shrugged it off as "I'm having no proper food don't piss me off!"
