  1. I have lost 35 lbs since the surgery. I had Kaiser, they had me on a preop classes and diet that I lost 9 lbs on and a liquid diet too, loss is 50 lbs, I M 5 10 and weigh 235 now. I could never get into a size 10 in my life, even when I weighed 145 when I was young. I too am menopausal. I didn't realize I should not eat carbs, I just thought the small stomach would make me feel full. but it doesn't . and it doesn't work on the "head" part of it. . I wish they would have given me Belviq like I wanted in the first place.
  2. itfor me and ive lost 35 pounds. since the surgery. I thought having 1/3 of a stomach would keep me from gaining weight and tht I would lose it a easy.. which is not the case. 4. my final straw was having this surgery e a dismal failure. almost a year is gone and I have lost less than 40 lbs since this surgery, I can still eat a big bowl of salad, junk food very easy to eat,, I avoid if I can. I cant eat many sources of Protein, now I eat a lot of eggs. I hate shakes and I still hate them. I have one every day for the protein and choke it down. my advice. don't do this surgery
  5. Kaiser So Cal is now approving this surgery but you have to do a song and dance for it. Check it out.. my husband who is an uncontrolled diabetic, hypertension, sleep apnea with cpap intolerance and a knee replacement in HIS ONE LEG could barely get approval- for the bariatric surgery.. I am now hoping for him to get the lap band instead, nevertheless me, also 100 lbs overweight but healthy-fergetaboutit. I was on a 12 step and lost 100 lbs, I kept most of them off, but I am still 100 lbs overweight and was starving the whole time I was on that plan. If I had a band I could stick with it. The sad sad part... I work for kaiser. truly disgusting. I now am going to the appeal thanks for the info, I should have remembered it from all the fun I had getting him the knee replacement - when reported, Kaiser suddenly stopped dragging their feet
