  1. Joining in this challenge a little late but I need something to motivate me through the holidays!
  2. I had a friend sleeping over and I get lots of gurglie noises when I lay down. She doesn't know about the surgery so she heard my stomach making noise and was concerned I was sick or something. I just kind of laughed it off and said my stomach always made weird noises. It was definitely embarrassing though...
  3. Visited my friend in Florida this weekend and we did a 10 mile bike ride. I was really worried before we started out because I was always so out of shape I never wanted to do anything like that. Halfway through I felt great and when we finished I felt like I could keep going! It was so great to be able to go out and do physical things with my friends and not feel like the fat girl holding everyone back
  4. Congrats! I have 8lbs to the 100 mark and I can't wait to get there!
  5. And now here are some recents. I am so happy about my progress!
  6. Okay, so as a lot of you know, I am not so good with taking pictures. However, going through facebook lately I have discovered some pictures that make me cringe. So I am posting here, my one year journey from my heaviest to this summer. Then I'm gonna post some currents
  7. i put on a pair of size 14 bootcut jeans from the gap that i wore when i was a freshman in high school!!!! they button and zip and everything, but they are just a little too tight to wear out. still, they fit! :frown:
  8. ive actually heard people talking behind my back about me and mostly theyre wondering if ive become anorexic... of course, these are people i dont count among my friends, and so they dont know about the surgery.. i havent gotten the drugs question - but im sure its coming from someone
  9. Heyy sorry for the late response - started grad school and life got crazy! bevanfranks - I gave away a lot of the clothes I had to a woman I met at my doctors office.. So sorry! She was just at the beginning of her journey (banded a few weeks ago) and happened to be a size bigger than everything I had, so I gave her most of it...
  10. When I hit my goal of being under 200lbs I am going to revise a tattoo I had gotten awhile back. It was supposed to be a star twisted into a celtic knot but somehow it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. So I am filling in the star, adding a few little ones around it and adding the quote "It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live." I'm hoping to be under 200 by my birthday (Sept 25th) so it can be a birthday present to myself!
  11. I have a TON of clothes - including some expensive work attire in the 20/22 range. I also have some larger tops and dresses. Most of it is really nice. I'd be more than happy to send it to someone who would like it. I'm thinking of taking photos of everything I have and then putting it on a blog. Please message me if you're interested!
  12. MrRiceGuy - I always hated flying because I'd have to squeeze into seats. I'm visiting my friend in FLA in a few weeks and I'm excited because I KNOW I'll fit better. this is going to be long, so i apologize.. I had a fill a month ago, two weeks later I was mysteriously too tight (vomiting, couldn't keep down anything but water). it was awful. to make things even worse i was away on vacation in rhode island and was afraid to go to the emergency room there because who knows what the doctor would do to me. long story short, i waited and suffered for 4 days until i could get to my doctors office. i was dehydrated and lost 17lbs in 3 weeks. well needless to say i had 1cc removed and gained about 10lbs back. i was not so happy about the gain when i went to the doctors yesterday to have a fill even though i knew it was going to happen. cut to today, i was talking to a guy online who i used to have a thing with forever ago. now we are good friends. he said he was checking out my facebook and was telling me how good i looked. he actually called me a skinny minny. i thought it was hilarious until he told me i looked skinnier than i was in high school. that just about made my day and made me feel a wholeeee lot better!
  13. whoo hoo everyone looks awesome! it really inspires me to see everyones pics so keep postin em! i know ive probably said that a million times, but its my favorite part of this website - seeing results in other people... it makes me really hope i can be as successful as all of you!!
  14. Had some issues - got sick, stomach inflamed, band feels too tight, slight unfill - that led to my 10lbs weight loss in 1.5 weeks. I am sure I will gain some of it back but for now, I'm updating myself. 15. Drew - 100lbs! thats amazing! congrats on you success Brockbabe82 - going down in sizes is one of my favorite things so yay! Angie and Zuka - I have tried really hard to not go crazy shopping because my mother and I are planning a rather large shopping trip when I hit goal weight. So I've been surviving on some old clothes, hand me downs from my mom and sister, and borrowed items from friends. Your stories make me laugh because I know exactly how you feel and I cannot WAIIITT to go shopping.
  16. I'd like to get in on this! 17. chocolate_snaps you look amazing!!!
  18. Being nervous is normal. I was definitely nervous when I scheduled my surgery. On the day of though I was more anxious/excited than anything. Good luck to you, and if you have any questions, these boards will probably answer them all
  19. Today I finally convinced myself that my glasses do not, in fact, make my face look skinnier and went out and got contacts
  20. Drew, I swear you just shrink. Congrats.
  21. yeah I had flown about a month ago and I was nervous about the same things. I was fine. I do tend to stress out during flights, and sometimes stress causes my band to feel tighter but even with that I was okay.
  22. everyone here looks so amazing. its really inspiring to me! heres some before/during pics of me. i really dont have many before pictures, mostly because i was always hiding myself behind things... i did my best. the pants i have on in the durings are way too big.. ill have to take better pictures with pants that fit...
  23. thanks jane! my bras do fit better around, but cup size is still a lot larger than I'd like, oh well.. I just gotta keep at it... mrriceguy - i WISH i could jog 3 miles!
  24. I haven't been on in a while, life got a little crazy, and is only going to get crazier since I've decided to start graduate school in the fall, while working full time. I need my head examined. Lately though, I've been kind of down because even though I see the numbers on the scale going down, I don't see much change in myself. My mom tells me I'm crazy routinely. Part of it has to do with the fact that while I am losing weight, my boobs have not gotten smaller. It's making it really hard to fit into clothes because XL fits my boobs, but no where else. So either I look like a slob or a hooker. This gets better, I promise. I had a tiny fill yesterday, and my mom could see I was not in a good mood. So she drags out these jeans that she swears will fit me. They were a size 16. Well these must be some Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants friggen magic jeans, because lo and behold I didn't even have to struggle into them. I almost cried I was so happy. Yes, they are stretch-ish and yes, they are not the slim-est of cuts (they're actually "Not Your Daughter's Jeans", if that means anything to you). But they were a size 16. I can't remember the last time I was a size 16. Probably 8 years ago. I still wear a size 18 in majority of pants, and I'm still rocking size XL clothes (thanks boobs). But I have one pair of super flattering jeans that say size 16 on them.
  25. Hi Roxy, There are a couple of things that could have led to your plateau. First, when was the last time you had a fill? It sounds to me like you might need an adjustment. I would schedule a fill ASAP. Even if its a small one, it might be what you need to push yourself over the edge and starting losing weight again. Also, I know weight watchers is a great tool to follow - my mom and sister both do it, and so half the time I end up eating the same things they eat. Just be careful if you are eating a lot of those weight watchers meals - they are loaded in sodium and can cause you to retain lots of Water - they are great in a pinch, but definitely not good for every day. Make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating Protein, especially while you are working out. Make sure you're not ingesting "liquid calories" like juice, sugary drinks, or ice cream in large quantities. I know I have juice for Breakfast usually, but otherwise its water and crystal light for me. If all else fails, call your doctor. There might be something more serious going on, but I suspect its one of those things. Keep up the good work and stay positive
