  1. You did a great job! I was banded on 2/27/09 and I am at 195 (before 247), so I finally reached the "onederland" . Boy, did it feel great! I went shoping for new work clothes at Dressbarn and found I didn't HAVE to go to the Women's side. I bought 12's and some 14's. I tell you it felt "oneferful"! (I was previously wearing a size 20/22). Congrats on your success!!!!!
  2. Hello All: I was also banded on the 27th. I am so glad to have this done! I felt more uncomfortabe with the gas more than anything else. Today is day 5 and I can say it does feel alot better. My doc suggested taking a stool softener like colace (believe it or not!) to help move it down the pipe and it really did help. He told me the gax-x strips only help with burping. I still feel sore today ( I definately know I've had surgery), but was abe to shower this morning and drink my first full liquids - an Atkins shake for me, although it took about 1/2 hour to get it down. Oh well, lots of changes to get used to, but worth it. I am already down 12 pounds from the pre-op diet. Hope all of you are doing well, and that everyone is not suffering too much at this point. Hang in there, it has to get better, right?
  3. Need to correct my spelling...to should be too. Sorry I just can't let it go as is.
  4. Hope I'm not to late in getting in on the Feb. bandsters name, my surgery date is Feb 27 and I am so excited!! Hoorray for me! I vote for February Foxes, but then again I am a girl, and hope I am foxy after I lose all the weight......
  5. Hello XXXLnomo: Contrats on your surgery! How are you doing with everything so far? I am from Wichita as well and am having my band done thru WTLSC in OP. I will be going for my pre-op on2/13 and hope to get a surgery date soon after. I don't know where you got your band, but I know that WTLSC do have a local support group thru the Wichita office. However, I am thrilled to her from another Wichita bandster and hope we can lend support for each other throgh our journey to a thinner body. Did you get your banding done here in town and who did you use? Are you happy with the results so far? I would like to hear about your experiences as I have yet to go through it. Look forwad to hearning from you.
  6. I am also using WTLSC in KC. Similar to your story, my approval also took a year. I just got my pre-op appt with Dr. Ellison on 2/6/09. I think I may have to go to KU Med as well. Have you gone to your pre-op yet or have your surgery scheduled? Best of luck to you and hope others with experience with Dr. Selim will give their 2 cents....
  7. Hello Everyone: I just received approval from my insurance and will have surgery sometime this month or so. Has anyone been banded by Weight Loss Surgical Centers? Any advice on what to expect both pre and post op? Any advice on choosing Realize or the Lap Band? I appreciate your help and am glad I have found this site as I have no idea on what to expect or what comes next. I will have my surgery date in the next couple of days or so. I am soooo excited!
