  1. Dawn, I'm 10 days post and I am on smooth foods , yogurt, puddings etc., I am also allowed mashed potatoes, . It helps me not to drink before I eat and absolutley no drinking for one hour post. I had my first mashed potato 1/2 c. last night I ate it very slowly and It worked like a charm i wasn;t hungry and the KNAWING in my stomach finally left ,I felt satisfied for the whole night. I think not drinking right before and not for anhour after is the key (at least it helps me) Good Luck!
  2. shelly, Basically, they will weigh you measure your ht. calculate bmi listen to heart and lungs, look at your abdomen. My surgical office then gave me a packet of Info which tells you what they require you to do before surgery. Also every insurance company has different requirements regarding the approval process. My advice start with your insurer find out all of their pre req. so you will be well informed what steps you need to take and document. ie, nutritional counseling, psychology appt.It sounds complicated but just make a list and start checking things off. Good Luck!
