  1. Hey All, saw the Doctor today and had lost 2.5kg in the last 2 weeks, but I had him put in another 0.5ml!! Hope you all had a great weekend! MEgsy
  2. Emmsie, reality check required.... 14kg is fantastic!! I can understand that you want the weight just to drop off (don't we all?), but this a long term process and you are ahead of the pack already. If you are truly unsatisfied with your weekly losses, reasses what you are doing and see if you can do anything better. That way you will feel more in control of your progress. Dont be too hard on yourself! Catch you later Megs

Hi, I've not come accross anyone who is not happy about being banded. It is the single most positive thing I have done for myself in my entire life! I wish I had done this years ago. I was banded 8 weeks ago (7th Jan 09) and have lost 11kg/25lb since surgery and 15kg/33lb since pre op diet commenced on the 26th Dec 08. I have had 2 fills and will get another small one next week and I can't wait. I can only guess that people who aren't happy with the band are people who are perhaps expecting too much and/or not doing the right things to get them the best results. This is not a solution, but a tool to help you lose weight. Don't get me wrong, I struggle to eat the right things and maintain exercise, but having the band minimises the effect of my bad behaviour and magnifies my good behaviour. At the end of the day, if my weight loss is bad, it is because of the choices I've made and not the bands fault. The band is good, the band is worth it and the band is gonna keep you alive for years to come!
  4. No Pain, No Issues, was driving at 2 days and was back at work in 3 days. Too easy!!!
  5. yeah i know!!! I have that when the kids have Maccas, and then I steal some of their fries!
  6. It was funny, once the food was up, there was no more pain and I wasn't hungry anymore. how does that work? go figure. what is even stranger is that I had Sushi the day after my fill and even though it hurt a little bit, it was nothing like what happened yesterday. either way sushi is off the menu!! what I am struggling to do is find everyday food that is healthy and yet wont cause a problem being digested. dont want to eat sandwiches, they dont want us eating soup, sushi is out.... I've made a couple of salads, but they are alot of keystrokes when you just want something qwik and easy. Does anyone have any suggestions??
  7. One further update, I had my first and hopefully last productive burp today!! I bought some sushi rolls for lunch and subsequently found out that it was not a good move. I had 3 bites, then pain, then 10 minutes of walking around trying to burp whilst in pain, then running to the bathroom as everything just floated back up into my mouth. Utterly disgusting!!! Even if I could eat sushi again, i probably wouldn't with the memory of todays episode still in my head!
  8. hey Shaggs, restriction is better but I want more fill. I tested the alcohol vs restriction last night to see how we were placed and I am glad to inform you that having fills does not affect alcohol consumption at all!!! These experiments are ongoing and I will keep you informed on any further results. Ego-boost was at an all time high thanks to advances of a certain cute and BUFF!!!! 26 year old who was very persistent and yet ultimately disappointed. Bad for him, good for me. It's good to know that even though I ain't using it, I still got it!!! LOL.
  9. Lellow... OMG!!! That sounds like a huge procedure. You are so brave! I can't believe you need that much work after losing 27kg. I need to lose another 45kg and I am hoping that I wont need anything done afterwards. I am kidding myself aren't I??? God, I hadn't really thought about what I would need done, not to mention how much it would cost!!! can I ask how old you are??
  10. Hi Lellow, May I pls ask....what is a body-lift? How much will it cost and how long is the expected recovery??? thanks Megan

Hey All, Well yesterday I got my second fill and it wasnt as bad as I thought, although it wasn't great. I had put on weight, about 100grams (about 22oz I think???). The Doctor wasn't fazed by it at all, saying that this stage of the band was 50/50 when you dont feel restriction. As I already had 4ml she was unsure how agressive to be with this fill. 1ml is the usual increase, but as I had felt no restriction at all we tossed around the 1.5ml and then decided to go with a compromise of 1.3ml. This bring me to a total of 5.3ml in a 10ml band. I am feeling a bit more restriction and I have had to slow down when I'm eating which is good, but I think I will need a bit more in a couple of weeks. Today I comfortably ate 2 sushi rolls for lunch and have had a small piece of lasagne and steamed vegies for dinner. I'm full, but for how long? Anyway, I have started walking most mornings after school drop off. Am doing a 4.5km (2.8 mile) lap of the neighbourhood and have started using my 'Ab King Pro' that has been sitting dormant in our bedroom for 18 mths....lol. I did 50 situps on it on Monday and am still hurting when I move. Maybe I'll do more tomorrow. On the Ego boost side of things, alot of people are commenting on how I look and I have had to throw some clothes out!! But I am noticing that my face has alot more lines on my face as it deflates.... that can't be good!! Till next time..................... :tt2:

  13. Hey Shaggs, Am feeling a bit more restriction than before. Didnt want to have brekky this morning so have just had 2 sushi rolls (struggled a bit with those) and some lasagne and steamed vegies for dinner. I am stuffed!!! I still want more fill though!!! I'm a fill junkie now and I want my next hit. have you started 'regular' food yet? How's it going?
  14. Had my second fill today, they gave me 1.3ml to take me to 5.3ml in total. I hope I feel restriction now!!!
  15. Hey All, Had my second fill today and they put in 1.3ml (total 5.3ml). I didnt actually lose any weight in the last 3 weeks and I'm not surprised considering I hadnt felt any restriction. Hope todays fill works!!!! Megs
  16. Hi All, I rang my my clinic when I was trying to decide what to buy Optifast or Optislim. They were very adament that Optifast was better. I tried arguing with them for my wallets sake, but they didnt budge and said for better results use the Optifast.... which I did. And I hated it, thought it was VILE!!! Am sooo thoroughly thankful I dont have to touch any of that crap anymore!
  17. Hi, Are we meant to??? What does "NO NG WIHTOUT TUBE" mean??
  18. Hey SHaggs, I tend to give myself what I want so I dont obsess over it anymore. have a glass of wine and some cheese - then throw the rest of the bottle out!!!
  19. Hey Emmsie, I had 2ml on day of surgery and another 2ml at my first fill - making a total of 4ml. My surgeon says most people sit around 6ml and he doesnt have anyone with more than 7.5ml. Having said that, everyone is different. I hope they put at least 3ml in when I go next week.
  20. Thanks Guys!!! All shall be revealed on Tuesday. Keep me posted on how youse guys are doing :rose:
  21. I'm back. I am now at Day 40 and still dont have any restriction. My next appointment is on the 24th Feb and I am hoping that they fill me to the top! At the moment it feels as though I have wasted my money on having the surgery - and it is money that my family could have used for other things. Any will power that I have shown over the last 7 weeks is all but gone. We have had heaps of social events lately and with all that yummy food and wine in front of me - I am struggling to stay away. I still don't think that I am eating the same amount as I used to, but I am really worried that I may have put weight on. Has anyone else been in this situation? Anyway.... enough whingeing for one night. What has everyone else been up to?

  23. Hi Guys, Things arent so great at the moment, purely because my first fill has made nought difference and my will power to only eat small amount is all but gone. the only time i feel any restriction is when i eat bread or chicken - then I am in pain for a minute or so - then I keep on eating. I try to keep to good foods but isnt always the case. Kids birthdays, partners birthday and general social occassion mean the crap is back. I think I have put on about a kilo - how devastating!! My next appointment is on the 24th and I hope HOPE they fill me right up. I want to feel restricted and I want not to be hungry. Shaggs/Emmsie, hopefully you both get restriction sooner than I have! Have a great night!
  24. Hey Shaggs, Sorry to hear you've had a bit of pain. I didn't tell you because I didnt haven any!! It's great that you are on the mend and that you have lost that much weight. Well DONE!!! Keep those Fluid up. Megs
  25. excellent!! great job Damo. I have a sticky-outty bit too and you can see it thru my clothes. I hope it is the same as you and nothing major.
