  1. Mama: I was banded 8/19/08, my total loss so far is around 40#'s, I have appt. tomorrow morning and will have a definite amount then.....I've not been very good at keeping track of my numbers. Will be adjusting that after tomorrow!
  2. My first fill was a nightmare....she couldn't access the port with the needle, decided that the needle was dull so she tried another needle and low and behold it worked! In answer to your question/poll I always get numbed! No problems since then tho!
  3. I love this show, however, I do seem to be a reality show junkie! Such inspiration. I too disliked the manipulator, Vicky last season. I enjoy watching the progress throughout the season tho.
  4. Thank you for your kind words of support. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with my 40# loss and I look forward to working my band to be a big loser! When did you have your surgery? I'm curious to hear of your success also.
  5. Warren, thanks for the details. My success so far has been slow, in my opinion. I have lost 40 lbs. so far. I have an appointment for a potential fill this Wednesday. I have 7cc's and feel no restriction. My surgery was performed in Dallas, but the office in Atl seems to be extremely conservative, so I always feel as tho I must be persistent when requesting a fill....I'm basically tired of having to "gear up" with attitude before my appointments! I'm really excited and looking forward to meeting the group.
  6. I'm looking forward to attending. That is Emory @ John's Creek correct? Does it matter whether I had my surgery at Emory or not? Are there any details/requirements I need to know about attending? Thanks for your replies.
  7. Laura, I too am new to this support group and was banded 8/19/08. I have 7cc's and feel no restriction, hope to get fill on Jan 7th. I will start this liquid stage & 5DP to give me a jumpstart, as I have only lost 40 lbs. since begining pre-op diet. I do believe that I need to up my protein intake.
  8. I noticed that the original post w/date, time & location was in April and no posts since mid-November. Is this group still meeting? If so, are the meetings still at hospital on the 4th Tues of the mth @ 7pm? I would like to join a support group. My surgery was 8/19/08 and feel that being part of a group would be beneficial.
