Raleigh NC
Hi! I am waiting to hear from my current Dr on his advice for a Dr. in the Raleigh area. I will let you know if I get a good name. I did hear about a Dr. Moran on another web site, but I have not checked him out yet. I would love to be part of a support group in the Raleigh area.

Raleigh NC
I am moving to the Raleigh NC area. I was wondering if there were other bandsters out there. Also, where can I go for follow up care and fills? I have been banded since November 2005, but I still need fills now and then.

Finally Banded!
Congratulatios on getting your band. You could try some prune juice. I hear that works.

> 200lbs Lost?
Thanks PhotoNut that was encouraging. Wow vinesqueen, your husband is doing great. He must feel like a totally different person. Thanks Gayle, your right. Time will continue to move on, and hopefully my weight will continue to move down at the same time.

> 200lbs Lost?
Thanks! That is very inspiring. I was hoping to see more people in this category though. Hopefully I will be someday.

> 200lbs Lost?
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who lost greater than 200 lbs with the band. If so, how long did it take?

What brand of vitamins do you use?
I see a lot of people are taking Flintstones. I am also. I have been taking 2 a day. How many is everyone taking? I just decided to take two, not because I was told to do that. But I don't know if I am taking enough. Thanks,

How Are You Going To Meet Your Maker ?
A tormented street mime beats you to death with an "unimaginary" cane. That would be an interesting way to go.

this diet is killing me
You are right. I had to do optifast for two weeks pre-op. That was hell too!

this diet is killing me
Wow! You are 5 days post op and eating all those things. My Dr. had me on clear liquids for two weeks, then two weeks of the items you are eating, then two weeks of soft foods. I would have killed for cottage cheese 5 days out. Hang in there, it will be over before you know it!

Lap-band for me?
Most US Dr's require you to be 100 lbs above your ideal weight, and have a BMI greater than 35. I don't know about the Dr's in Mexico though.

Flushing your pouch????????
That is interesting. I never heard of that. Does the food sit in the pouch over night? Is is unable to go through when you are laying down?

4 Fills and 6 Months
Terri, I have the Inamed VG band. My doctor said it can hold up to 12cc including the tube. I don't know how much I have now, but it must be over 10cc, that is what I had at fill number 2. Sounds like you may need another fill. Just keep going back until it is right, like I said it took me 4 fills and 6 months.

4 Fills and 6 Months
After 4 fills and 6 months, I finally have "real" restriction. :clap2: My previous fills helped me to lose weight, but I have always been able to eat pretty much anything I want, and had to really work hard not to over eat. Now, I can only eat a few ounces of food, and I have to really chew chew chew, which really slows down my eating too. :hungry: I hope this fill will kick my loss into high gear.

Dr. Grossbard self pay
Yes, I imagine he is very busy. Between his surgeries, his patient after care, assisting Dr. R with his surgeries, and doing the seminars. I am sure there is more to add to that list as well. I had to spend the night. I am sure it would be cheaper if I didn't. The biggest part of the cost went to the hospital.

Dr. Grossbard self pay
I had my surgery with Dr Rehnke at The Palms of Pasadena hospital in St. Petersburg. Dr. Grossbard assisted. I was self pay and paid around 17,000. I don't think you can go wrong with Dr. Grossbard, he is a really nice guy and he is one of us too!

Hello
Hello! I was banded on 11/08/05, and I have been posting on a couple different yahoo groups. I just discovered this forum, and it seems pretty cool. I am looking forward to hearing and sharing lapband experiences with everyone. I love my band!
