  1. You will look and feel awesome! That is how it will be :w00t: I have been skinny before, I am just so excited to be like that again. here we go!!!!
  2. I am all alone :w00t: LOL I have my pre-op appt on the 18th, then my surgery on the 20th. I don't have to do a pre-op diet, but I think that I might do it for about 2 days before just to get used to it. I hope I recover as well as it sounds like you all are doing. I have had 2 c-sections, so I can't imagine that this is worse than that!
  3. Congratulations ladies! I hope I can soon say the same thing
  4. Is anyone else not on one? My doc said I didn't need to loose weight before surgery so I don't have to be on one. Anyone else the same way?
  5. Hi!! I grew up in Michigan So not too far from you. I am excited to share this experience with everyone too! Look forward to getting to know you!
  6. Hey! You guys are getting banded today...maybe right now! LOL I hope its going well!!!
  7. I am so excited for you girls!! Woo hoo!
  8. Yay! I was acutally suppose to get banded in February, I would already be done...werid, LOL but my son (8 months) is having surgery tomorrow and I wanted to make sure that I am 100% for that. But so exciting!!!
  9. Am I the only one who wasn't put on a pre-op diet?
  10. Aussie- You have to copy and paste the html code (one should say "message boards) into your signature.
  11. Yeah, we need to decide on a name :tongue2: I have seen people with their glitter graphics in their signatures, I've seen people with both... lets pick!! :tt2:
  12. I was barley approved for my sugery, and after a bout of food posioning I have lost some weight. And even though I wasn't put on a pre-op diet, I want to start eating better before I go into surgery and start exercising to make the whole process easier. So anyway, I called my doc and they said it was fine, if I was already approved they won't take it back if I loose weight, but I'm still afraid they will. Does anyone have experience with this?
  13. Haha..right? I might have to change my name down the road :tongue2:
  14. This is a fantastic thread! We should all come back and look at these when we hit our goals 1. Buy more age appropriate clothes. 2. Restart dance classes. 3. Look hot in a bathing suit
  15. Fergwood- I agree with you. I am one of those "younger" people and it is so true. I have told my husband and my mother (my kids are too young to know) and I told one friend, and have since regretted it. She acted supportive but some of the things she said were to the contrary. I thought she would get it, she is overweight too and we have talked about weight loss together. I think it was more about the money though, even though I just have my deducatble and a fee of $191 to pay, they are really broke and I think it was more about me "wasting" that money. I am only 24 and I feel older, things that should be easy, aren't. I want to get healthy now so that I can be healthy for my kids. So those are the only people I have told, maybe after I have it I will tell more, I'm not sure yet though. Anyway, yeah, thats my take
  16. I agree, I feel like, DANG i should be able to do this on my own, but alas, here we all are! I think it is scary for everyone, I am most afraid I will die on the table and leave my husband alone with our two children. But the chances of that happening are slim. I bet it is more probable to die in a car crash. But, we are all feeling the same things, hang in there! We will get through this together!
  17. Oh and I'm originally from MI  Woot Woot!
  18. I am acutally doing that... but for different reasons. I wasn't put on a pre-op diet because my weight isn't THAT high (haha, who would ever call 200 lbs not that high) anyway... I *helped* the scales a bit and now I'm afraid they will freak when I come in weighing less than before. So i'm forcing myself to eat way more and for hte first time in my life, I'm having a hard time putting weight on. Who would have thought, right? Are you on a pre-op diet? If not, i wouldn't worry about it, honestly. I know that the day of my surgery it all changes, which I am acutally looking forward too... I'm not enjoing stuffing myself. LOL
  19. We need something really sassy I am just horrible at coming up with names.... I voted Lucky Losers though
  20. Hey guys! I have my surgery scheduled for March 20th I was suppose to be in Feb, but I pushed it back due to some family things happening around that time. I am really excited and nervous  It will be nice to have a support group of people going through the same exact thing!! Heres to the begining of great friendships and a fantastic journey!!
  21. I am glad that you don't plan on arguing, because I wasn't trying to argue, just to back up my post. I have no idea about the quality of care in Australlia, so I can't comment, but I do have a friend here whos doctor just recommended she go tanning to help with Vitamin D. And for all I know, tanning salons in Australia are worse than they are here. But like I said, 3-4 minutes a day, 3-4 days a week isn't going to give anyone cancer. At that rate, it probably won't even give you a tan. LOL
  22. I would love to know where you get your information from, because you are sadly mistaken. Artificial light from tanning beds mirrors that of the sun. It is the same. The difference? You can control it's exposure by the time. There are so many things that can alter the amount of UVA and UVB rays from the sun (weather, time of day, location etc.) which is why it is safer to get light from a bed. As you said, where you are from, the sun is strong, which makes sense why you have to be more sun conscious. If artificial lights are so dangerous, why would one receive "light therapy" for things like Vitamin D deficiency or for babies who have jaundice, it is the same thing. And if your eyes are well protected, as they should be from tanning bulbs or the sun, then you have no problem. Also, as far as the cancer being removed, you are thinking of Basal cell carcinoma, not melanoma. Basal Cell is the least deadly and much more common, malignant melanoma is the most deadly and also least common, there is a big difference in these cancers and how deadly they are. I also want to emphasize again that it is OVEREXPOSURE that causes skin damage, not simply exposure. Look up any medical website, it will tell you the same thing.
