this is kind of off the subject of just having it done, but if your insurance covered it - what insurance did you use? i can't find an individual plan (without going through an employers insurance) that will approve it?

Ok, need advice! I currently am on the HIP Indiana Plan, which is a government plan that doesn't cover lap band. Husband doesn't have insurance, has been using a volunteer clinic. His work's insurance is very bad quality so we don't use it. What plan will cover us on an indivual family plan that will approve of the lap band? We are both way over the 40 bmi - I think I am like 48? Anyway, don't know which way to go! HELP!:laugh:

HELLO! IM NEW TO THIS SITE AND DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT I'M DOIN LOL. I HAVEN'T HAD THE LAP BAND YET, BUT WANT IT. I DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE AT THE MOMENT, AND CANNOT GET "GROUP HEALTH" INSURANCE LIKE YOU GET AT YOUR WORK AND I CAN'T FIND ANY INDIVIDUAL HEALTH PLANS TO COVER OBESITY TREATMENTS. ANY SUGGESTIONS? WE ARE VERY BUDGETED ON MONEY SO IT'S NOT LIKE WE CAN PAY ANYTHING JUST TO GET IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP! :biggrin:
