  1. Maybe it's the sugar or HFCS in ketchup? Good salsa doesn't have much, if any, added sugar (in my Texan opinion!)
  2. Don't. Don't feel that way. Compulsive eating, compulsive over-eating, the disordered eating habits you describe - those are addictions. They are NOT easy to beat! Look at how hard people try to quit cigarettes and can't. Or try to stop drinking and they can't. Addictions are not something that most people can just "get over". <-- That's the closest I could find to a hug emoticon.
  3. Physically, yes. Mentally, probably not. Most thin people don't feel near the kind of shame most fat people do for eating the same things. I say this as the fat one whose BFF is tall and skinny. We eat the same foods nearly every day and she is thin as a rail and I am... not.
  4. This is a good recommendation. Also, Fenugreek pills work really well for a lot of women. I'm not a midwife, but I'm an amateur breastfeeding expert. I'm the one who gives all my friends advice and I like to think I've helped a few. If you start having supply problems, ask me. I had horrible supply problems too. You can also post on the La Leche League forums, lots of LLL leaders there. Good luck to you!
  5. I have been thinking about Lap-Band off and on for about 8 months... my friend had it 6 months ago and she's very happy with it. She's been a great source of knowledge, but I'm just looking for more advice and stories and info. Tonight I'm going to a seminar at Southwest Bariatrics in Austin. I need to know if my insurance will even cover the procedure before I get my heart set on it. If I have to self-pay it will be a good while before I can do that. I have other debts to get out of first. My health is important but I don't have any serious health problems yet, so really, money is more important right now. :huh2: So, anyway, there's my intro. Expect to see me lurking around and asking questions. A big part of me wants the surgery and a big part of me is scared. We shall see...
