Fill center in New Prague MN

I have been going to Dr. Peter O'Brien,He's very reasonable and I've been very happy with him. He only does fills on Tuesdays. It does take awhile to get into him,and he will only do fills every 6 weeks, when I made my 1st apt. it took 2 months, then when they made my apt. for another fill, it was almost 3 months later, but if you call they them and ask to get a fill a little earlier they'll do that. Like I said earlier I am very happy with him.
  2. Just wondering if any one could give me information on this fill center and if they are happy with it, and what they charge, I have been waiting to long between fills because the dr. I go to now charges $300 a fill and it's getting to be a little tight on the pocketbook. Any info would be welcomed Thanks!!

Fill center in New Prague MN

the dr. took out what he put in ,in july and i feel so much better, i think he took out .5cc i was almost afraid to eat a hamburger for supper tonight i thought it would hurt but it didn't and i feel so much better. your date is coming up fast when do you fly down to mexico? and is someone going with you? do you have to do anything for pre-op diet? this is the most amazing thing i have ever done i haven't lost as fast as i would like to but at least i haven't gained any either, last night my husband finally told me he could see that i had lost weight in my legs, i asked about anywhere else and he kinda went yeh your boobs, i wanted to say thanks for noticing that my jeans are about to fall off, but then thought better of it and figured a compliment is a compliment and coming from him i'll take it:biggrin: .

Fill center in New Prague MN

abeckel the Dr. that does my fills is in Sioux Falls SD it's $180 for the office visit and the fill, I was very pleased with how everything went. Dr Kirshenbaum is a very good Dr. I was really happy with the way everything went, my surgery took alittle longer than an hour because I had my gallbladder taken out the old fashioned way so I had alot of scar tissue on my right side , the nurses at the surgical center were so nice. From the time I called him to when I had the surgery was about 6 weeks, 2 weeks before surgery he has you go on a no carb diet and wants you to lose at least 3-5 pounds before surgery, he will call you and talk to you on the phone and then go through some info that they have you download on the computer, he also has a dietition (sp) call you and speak to you also. mnmichelle I really thought long and hard about going to Dr. Kuri but my husband will not fly and the thought of Mexico scared the heck out of him, but he was my first choice until I told my hubby. Good luck with Dr Kuri and let us know how everything goes, by the way when is your surgery?

1st Fill Next Wednesday, March 18th!!

I had my 1st fill this past thurs.:scared2: I was so nervous only because I wasn't sure what to expect I even had my daughters come along, Wasn't bad at all! he did numb it 1st and before I knew it he was done. what a good 1st fill. I don't feel much restriction, I think he put in 11/2 cc's cause there was already 11/2 in there, I am so glad to finally being on this part of the banding, don't worry everything will go fine and after it's all said and done you'll probably wonder why you were even worried. Good Luck!!:crying:
  11. Try Almay, it's a gel but I found it works really good for me cause I would always breakout with everything else. been using it for years now and I have no problem with it, funny isn't it how our bodies change after a surgery, ecspecially such a great surgery.

    Pre-op diet

maestrita I went to the same hospital that you are going to for the surgery, when I did my low carb high protein diet I went mainly meat and eggs plus veggies and some fruit and I did drink 1% milk. I never ate any bread at all. they just wanted me to lose 2-3 lbs I have a hard time losing weight and I lost 8# in 2 weeks just stick with it and you'll do great I also was worried about fatty liver and my was just fine. the Dr. is pretty down to earth and the surgical center nurses are wonderful, the ones I had treated me really good. Whatever you do don't be afraid to ask him questions I know I asked alot of them! Good luck with your surgery everything will go great!!!

    $700 fills in Oxford, MS!

I had my surgery in Denver, I live in MN, and my fills are being done in Sioux Falls SD and it's costing me $300 dollars I about fell off of my chair, because I've heard alot of other people saying the norm is $150, so I think I'll still look around for a fill center even if it means driving for a couple of hours.

    February 4 Bandsters

I have 5 incisions , 2 that are about 1inch long the others are just where they poked everything through. Aren't the nurses in recovery just great! The ones I had were really nice to, I gave them all a hug before I left because they were so sweet. Before you know it Wed. will be here and you'll be having your tuna salad!! We had my sisters 50th birthday party tonight at our house and I didn't even miss not having the cake and ice cream, I did have a lick of frosting though and I hate to say it but it was kinda good. martyh don't worry to much, before you know it it's done and over with. I've lost 8lbs pre-op and 11lbs post-op I only plan on weighing myself once a week, I wanna see the scale move more than a few ounces at a time! I have about 100lbs to lose, and I told my hubby as long as I get below 199 I'll be happy, haven't weighed that since my oldest daughter was born 25 years ago. Keep us updated on how your surgery goes and good luck, before you know it your life will be getting better and thinner!!

    February 4 Bandsters

Sunnycoconut for lunch today I had a craving for egg salad so that is what I'm havin. Isn't it weird how all Drs. are different in how and what you can eat? I have 1 incision that's giving me a little grief but my dog jumped on it last night and caught his nail I finally slept on my stomache for the 1st time last night, other wise my side for about a week. Where did you have your surgery done? Mine was in Denver with Dr. Kirshenbaum. It just seems like you plan this for so looooong and then boom it's done and over with, and you feel great! Can't wait for summeR!!!

For everyone that has already had surgery

Inneedofhelp my dr.suprised me also with a Realizeband I guess when we first discussed it he was going Lap-Band, I to am wondering and will ask when I go in for my checkup,I also had a very nice suprise after all was said and done, I had my gallbladder out the old fashioned way, with an incision from my ribs to my waist, I just always thought it was the uglist scar (well it really is),but anyway the scar tissue from that surgery adhered to my stomache on the right side so I should never have to worry about slippage on that side at least one good thing came out of the scar! I am feeling great know one can believe I just had surgery because I feel so great and have been out and about. Good Luck all Feb. Foxes!!!
  19. I was banded on 2-4 feeling okay so far, some heavyness in my chest but have had very little pain, think I over did it yesterday somewhat sore today, am on full liquids so had some oatmeal this morning didn't think oatmeal could taste as good as it did. Am going to try some pureed canned meat tonight, just want something with flavor. I feel this is one of the best things I have ever done for myself!! Even my DH is excited for me, and usually he doesn't get to excited about things that I do. Hope everyone keeps feeling better everyday!!!!!!!!!!!

    Anyone banded Feb 3, 2009

I was banded on 2-4 and have a horrible headache do you think it's ok to crush up some tylenol and take it? I have alot of gas between my shoulders and it hurts like an sob. But I am so glad I did this, and keep thinking tomarrow will be better. I also have nausea but my dr. gave me some dissolveable(sp) pills that helped a little bit. The journey is really beginning now, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Out of town for the band

maestrita I have my surgery on the 4th, It finally hit me the other night in the shower that this is really happening. On sat. I mailed the payment off and my daughter was sitting there ,I made a comment that this is the real thing now, my daughter started laughing and asked me if she should run down to the mailbox real quick and grab the check. Good luck to all the Feb. banders our time is getting closer!!!!

Out of town for the band

I to am going to Denver with Dr.Kirschenbaum, I wish I could fly out but my husband doesn't like to fly, so we are driving from MN It will be about a 10-12 hour drive, I'm worried about the drive home and how I will feel, I will be getting out of the envoy often to walk, and I know I can put down the backseat so I can lay down on the way . I'm getting very excited and ready to start my new life. Last night my DH asked if I will be happy again when some of the weight comes off, just told him until you've walked in my shoes you will never know how happy I will be. I started my pre-op diet yesterday and is going very well so far, my husband loves it I'm making meals for him, instead of him figuring out what to have. Good luck with everything!!

    Any February 2009 Bansters?

sherry don't worry to much over the side effects, some people come out feeling fine others feel horrible, I hope I'm one of those feeling fine! I had my consultation with my dr. on thurs. he really pit my mind at ease, I have a consultation on wed. with the nutritionist, I just have to go on a low carb, high protein starting on the 21st,and then surgery on the 4th on Feb. The only thing bothering me is we are driving from MN to CO about a 12-14 hour drive, cause my hubby doesn't like to fly, and all I can think about is the uncomfortable drive home, told him we would be stopping quite often so I can get out and walk around a little, yea he had a smart remark for that, but I am so excited about this and so ready to do something that will help keep the weight off when I lose it. good luck to everyone!!:tongue2:
