    Work

When did everyone feel they were ready to go back to work? Did you have a waiting period or did you just go right back into it?

    Work

I ended up getting back from Tijuana on Monday February 22nd and decided to go to work the very next day and have had no pain because of it. After being in the clinic I think I would go crazy sitting at home for another week having nothing to do. Thanks everyone for the input.
  3. Well I just got back yesterday from Tijuana and have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised. Everything was great for my surgery and the people that work there are so nice. My coordinator Melissa from Obese Solutions was very helpful both before and during my stay. I though it was wonderful that she was there in person. Dr. Almanza was very nice and professional and always had a smile on his face. I love that he took the time to explain the procedure to me and the others in my group. We had a group of 7 people. 5 sleeves and 2 bypasses in all. They did all the surgeries in the first day after our tests except for one person who happened to have a kidney problem and they wanted to observe him for one more day. I have to admit the gas pain was the worst. The drainage tube was gross and I was so glad when it came out. The recovery house was nice and comfortable with live in caregivers. If this were something I was going to need to do again I'd do it. But maybe I'll go down for a visit sometime if I'm in the area or if my boyfriend decides to go next year for his sleeve. They were very nice to him also and he got things like Cookies and pizza with Dr. Betancourt and some of the other spouses. I'm 4 days post op and feel great, a little sore and glad to be going back to work today. If anyone wants to talk about their experience or ask any questions please feel free to ask. All of you have been so helpful with answering my questions. Talk to you later and enjoy this new life we're given. Thanks, DJ:biggrin0:

    Thanks.

I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to answer my questions and share their experiences with me. Because of all the great information I finally am able to get my sleeve on February 19th with Dr. Almanza. Again thanks for the support so far and I'm sure I'll have plenty more to ask about during this whole transition. DJ:thumbup1:
  5. How did your surgery go with Dr. Almanza?

  6. Since most of the stomach is removed are there anymore hunger pains? Do you have to remind yourself when to eat? How about burping, is that different too? I have acid reflux and tend to burp a lot no matter what so was wondering what everyone else is feeling. Thank you.

    Staple line.

Does anyone know how long it take for the staple line to heal completely? What has everyone's post op diet been like?
  8. sinner78

    Staple line.

    Ok thanks. This helps.

    Staple line.

I hope when I get mine done I can still take my pills. I have to take 7 pills a day for the rest of my life. Maybe I can crush them or something.

    Scars

I was also wondering how many incision scars do doctors typically need for this surgery? Thanks.

    Hunger Pains/Burping

This sounds like a surgery I could get to like a lot. Sometimes I forget I'm not at home and am shopping or at the movies and just burp out loud. It's embarrassing. I hope when I get the sleeve I don't burp as much as I do now. Thank you for the reply.

    Alcohol

How well does everyone post op do with the drinking of alcohol? I know you can't drink it all the time because it inhibits weight loss but is once in a while okay? How does everyone feel when they do drink? Does it burn?

    Alcohol

    Thanks:biggrin0:
  14. Does anyone know if acid reflux goes away with the VSG? I have had acid reflux since I was 11 and have to take 2 pills a day for it and even that doesn't help all the time. I know with some surgeries you can have less acid problems but not sure about this one. Any input is appreciated. Thanks, DJ:blush:
  15. What is this PB thing everyone is talking about?

  16. Has anyone been to the Bajanor center for their lapband surgery? Can anyone give me info about how their visit went and what kind of results they have achieved? I'm thinking of going in June 2009 but need to know a little more about this clinic. Any info will help I want to hear as much as possible. Thank you, DJ
  17. I was wondering if you could tell me more about your experience with the lapband and where you got it from. I am looking at the site called alighterme.com and the Dr. is now Almanza. How long ago did you get your band and how much success have you had with it? Hope to hear from you.

    Thanks,

    DJ

    Greetings

    I'll try that. Thank you.
  19. Hi everyone. I'm new here and am planning on going to the Bajanor Center in Tijuana. Can anybody give me their input on any exprience they have had with this place and also if they have lost weight? Even though I just joined I have been reading many posts for a while now and it is very encouraging to me. It's nice to know it works and that there is a chance for me to lose weight. Hope to hear back about this. Thanks, DJ
