  1. About the bread thing: I can eat bread easily, I can eat anything easily, that has been the case since the op and also now that I've a fill I can still eat bread, have I got a skinney stomach or something, cos nothing touches the band at any time :tongue_smilie:
  2. Hi Jewy and bigbones, glad your over the op, and on the road to recovery. I had my first fill today with chris deprez, he was most charming and remembered me and my daughter from our visit to Brussells, he seamed very pleased with the way I had healed, and gave me a fill of 2.5ml with another fill next month, so at last I'm on my way.
  3. welcome dublingirl, this is a great thread for all Dr Chris' patients, so glad you have come to join us, flirtylass is also an Irish bandster, and such great fun, no doubt she'll tell you all about getting fills in Ireland.
  4. Just tell me where and when our get together is and if i'm in the uk I'll come. But please make in near a motorway
  5. Thanks Gary Hi Freckles, My son has 2 children 1 girl 1 boy, my grand daughter aged 5 was in my bedroom last weekend, and I changed my top without thinking, and when she saw my tummy scares she got really worried and asked my why I had fallen and hurt myself, and did I want her to kiss them better, she is such a sweety I love her to bits.
  6. Well done flirty, I never doubted you'd bounce back a good shopping spree is just the thing to get me remotivated as well. I went out today to look for a wedding outfit for next August when my nephew is getting married, but unfortunatly I looked like uncle Fester in everything I tried on, so I'll wait awhile and see if the weight starts to shift after my fill.
  7. This is Sians first, I am so pleased for her she has had a really difficult past 2 years but is now looking forward to this exciting time
  8. Woop Woop first fill tomorrow with Chris Duprez in Newport, do you pay in euros or sterling and does anyone know how much, I was so excited to get an appointment after waiting over 6 weeks that I forgot to ask.
  9. Dr Chris confirmed, that long haul flights increase in the pressure in the band, and recommends an unfill, plus you must have an unfill if your intend scuba diving. So freckles the master himself agrees with you, so you've been right all along. Freckles when is your daughters baby due, my daughter baby due mid Oct, and so far has not needed an unfill but her weight is being monitored closely by spire surgeon, he wants her to put on 2LB each month, other wise he will insist on unfill. Her target total gain is to be 1st. Sian has lost a total of 4st since her baand and now has a bmi of 26. This is all so exciting.
  10. If your thinking of Belgium or on a tight budget look at the thread "has anyone heard of Dr Chris De Bruyne", after care is in UK or belgium or you could look at an aftercare package only such as the wlsgroup, there are lots of options.
  11. welcome fatladyslim, hope you get the info your looking for there is so much much on past posts I'm sure you will find all you'll ever need to know plus a lot more nonsense too, but its all to keep moral high, and too keep us laughing. Any questions you will have will be answered, and there is great support available. No one on here regrets the choice they made in having surgery with Dr Chris. Welcome back freckles, I've been missing you. xx.mmmxx.
  12. Cheers gary, how you feeling now are you loosing any weight, mine is on stop
  13. Hi Gary I worked out my BMR its 1374, what have I got to reduce it too, to loose 2lb a week assuming all activity remains the same. I must have miss understood because if I reduce by 500 cals per day per Lb that will reduce my cals by 1000 which will only give me 374 a day, Ta Maggs x
  14. I feel really left out, i dont get any pain, or even uncomfortable at any time, its as if I have'nt had anything done. I can eat, and want to eat just as I did pre op. Roll on Friday for my first fill. And then I can join in with the conversations.
  15. Oooooo woooppyy I just love green furry burgers, I'm also partial to e.coli bangers, our local butcher is so famous for them he is currently on the tele for killing off infant school kids around here. I'm taking my daughter for her first scan this weekend, so please can you post them to me second class will be fine, it'll just add to the flavour.
  16. Glad all went ok for you Gary, and you've had a start with your fills thats good news. Flirtylas, we are all here for the bad days as well as to cheer you on for the good days, so voice any concerns you have support is here for you, but I understand what your saying about the more you eat the more you want to eat, when you restarted eating after your fainting spell, did you go to regular times to eat or did you start unscheduled snacking. The idea of resuming more fluids has to be worth a try, keep me posted, thinking of you. xxxmmmxxx
  17. Have you tried the bassetts soft and chewy multiviamins, its like eating kids sweets, they are fab not at all medicinal more like a treat, the ones I got are berry flavour.
  18. Hi Gary, hope all turnes out ok for you tomorrow, let us know what happens. xxxmmmxxx
  19. Welcome back sammy, so glad all turned out ok, and you had a sneaky holiday, arnt you the lucky one. dont overdo it in the early days chill out and enjoy. Sorry about the curry night girls, I got lost at the majic roundabout, but we called into a chinese,to drop off the illegals, and had a crispy duck. We'll have to arrange it again when someone reaches their target weight. Cheers.
  20. just put them in your clear plastic bag with all your liquids and creams as per flight requirements. good luck, safe journey
  21. If your going via Belgium International airport, they are fine as hand luggage, I showed them at check in, and they gave me and my daughter extra large seats (up graded to business class) and asked if i needed assistance, and wheel chair, so no probs with hand luggage, cos thats all i took.
  22. Dont know about the throat thing, did'nt have that.
  23. WEEKLY WEIGHT IN AND ......... no change, its getting boring waiting for my first fill which is on the 27th of this month.
  24. Hi shoes, the blue stitch is where the drain was and if you have one its quite noticeable. The nurse at the hospital told me that not everyone has one because sometimes it comes out when they remove the drain, someone else on here did'nt have one aswell, possibly one of the sisters or wishfull. I was eating normal food within a few days of the op just chewed thoughly, and slowely, I have felt no pain not even been uncomfortable with what ever I've eaten. But we all have had different experiences, possibly Gillian I think had trouble with a dinasaur (she'll tell you all about it its in a past post and had me giggling to myself for days) some cannot tolerate bread, or chips, but I can eat everything and no side effects, so its a bit of trial and error.
  25. Wow big sister your doing fab thats an average of 2.6 lbs per week if you keep that up for 1 years that will be close to 10stone, and if your already into size 14 jeans well that would make you around sized aged 4/5 by this time next year. woop woop.
