  2. HI mags lovely to hear from you, i wish i could tell you that thay all have been sorted but i would be lying hahaha. i am awaiting the complete removal of my band, ive been for a ct scan and going for an edoscopy on fri as she thinks its probably eroded and has to work out the best way to remove it I have had 2 ports placed and both have ended up infected which point to the band and tubing itself being infected so it has to come out. This has been going on now since sept so in fairness i want it out, i have had no restriction since then and havnt gained as i am still mad for the training and train 6 days a week, my diet could be better but not too bad and i think as i have been fighting infection and taking tablets foir so long my metabolismn is f@@@ed so il be glad to get it out. In reflection i do not regret getting it< yes ive had my problems moreso than normal but its helped id say its lost 40% of my weight but its helped changed my view, even now with no restriction my view to large plates is very different, yes i still enjoy eating crap but that will never change but fortunatley excercise keeps that at bay. Regards g
  3. i have replied to your mail, let me know if you got it
  4. hey all, just thought i would stick my head on here and see who is still about from my era a while back on this site, for all that i know i hope your doing well and for all new guys i hope your band is working for you. gx

  6. well i got my 2ml taken out my band for my leg surgery on wednesday:angry:, il tell you im not happy about it as i had been at my sweetspot for some 4-5 months now and was very controlable, its now a strange feeling being able to eat again, i have very little restriction now however my stomach can no longer take the larger portion although i can eat more than i was, so the next 3 weeks are going to be intersting, fortunately for me i am very motivated with my training for the half marathon so i should be ok. keep you posted. g
  7. hi and welcome to the site, was nice to meet you. g
  8. hey scooby was nice to meet you yesterday, yip the gurgling is normal, thats you starting to get some restriction however it will eas as i had that too but when i got to my tight sweet spot the gurgling stopped so maybe one more might have you at the sweet spot. On the marathon ive not decided wither to do for charity yet, i will wait till next week and see how i am after my leg surgery, im sure il be fine. gx
  9. excellent good news, now make sure you take the proper time to recover its mega important gx
  10. i hve frederik mobile number if its any use, send me a pm if u would like it. g
  11. hi all big test for me, i am having my varicose veins removed on the 4th of august and as it is a general anasthetic i have to get my band opened, much to my regret as i have spent some time getting to my sweet spot but hey ho. It will be interesting to test and see for the 4 weeks how i am mentally with food. I am hoping that my eating habits have changed enough by now that it should be ok. Keep you posted. g
  12. hi karob Sounds pretty much like restriction, my goodnes thats quick after 2 fills, you will be the envy of a few on here. In my experience i would not get it taken out as it will eventually ease and what you will learn about you and your band in that time is invaluable. As long as you can get water down then just try different thing, i have days where thin soup is all i can eat and other where i can eat chicken, no day is the same. my last fill was march and i still can be very tight, u will find at only 2 fills it will ease off quite quick and that when u get more in not out, it aint east this lark. g
  13. it is my pleasure, good luck you, keep us posted. gx
  14. Jayne what ur feeling is normal and i think everyone went through this, but without being flipant your not giving it much time, unfortunately the band is far from a miracle cure and requires a lot of working with it, i am 17 months post op and still struggle some days trying to understand it. UNfortunately i would guess you will be 3 maybe 4 more fill until it will do what its supposed to, yes every fill you will feel a difference but until you get to that true sweet spot will be some time so your just going to have to content yourself. Sorry if i am sounding brash but unfortunately you need to try and get your head into eating well and healthy as if you never had a band as when you reach the spot you will be well on the way. When i first met dr chris he insisted that i loose 3 stone in 2 months if i wanted the op, this was for 2 reason, 1 i was over 29 stone and a big risk for anasthetic and 2 that he wanted to test my commitment to the band as i said earleir unfortunately its not a solution to weightloss it is merely a tool to help. I done it and with male bands they take even more filling so i was i think 4 months before i felt any difference but fortunately my inital weightloss gave me the motivation, i unfortunately had a tubing leak and had to get a second operation in the aug(band insertion was feb) therefore i had to go back to scratch therfore it was oct before i got to proper restriction, now if on the op table he told me it would not work until the oct i would have said f@@k that and not bothered, time passes quickly, please try and get involved with some sort of excercise or even walking as trust me this makes a huge difference and allows me to be naughty and have the wee things that we think we cant on a diet and that has been why i aint failed because i have a little of what i fancy when i want. For example i got an indian curry on fri and as i could hardly eat it i left it and it done me 2 more meals, whereas before that one and a 2nd would have gone, but i was satisfied that i had something that was tast. Pheww god i am rambling, in summary you have made the right choice as it definately works as long as you see it as a tool and not a solution, it aint easy not by a long shot but persevere, this site is here to help so if your low just extend a hand, i am happy for you to pm me any time, il even give you my mobile number if you want someone to chat to, i am not saying i have all the answers but i would now call myelf a pretty expierienced bandster. just remember we are iall in the same boat just at different stages. gaz
